He's just silly good.

He's categorically the best in my lifetime, however my lifetime started in the late 80s

He's not really comparable to Dalglish is he? Dalglish had his time. So did Maradonna. The game has changed vehemently. Let's just focus on how fucking ace he is.

In fairness somebody had just previously said Luis Suarez is the best we've ever had. Against that background it was quite legit to mention the King.

I agree though that celebrating Suarez is all we really need to be doing here.

It's the 93rd minute of a game in which he run his socks off and we are 2 goals up.
He challenges the defender and goes all the way to score. Can't think of many strikers who'd do this.
This is just an unbelieveable attitude!

On top of that never say die attitude, he's so skillful and technically gifted, he's sharp in mind, as Markeh says, and he's always in for the unexpected as he thinks different.

We're so blessed to have him. I hope he sticks with us, and becomes for us what Cantona was for MU.

I made a mental note a while ago just to enjoy him and not think about where his future lies, now we're a bit closer to a champions league place I hope he'll stay here.

That last goal showed so much of him, there's just so much craft in it much more than I described before. I think he also purposefully hides himself in a blind spot of the defender and uses a combination of Raheem and feinting to hit the ball 2 or 3 times to ensure the goal. I think you could shave with him he's so sharp.

Was it you that brought his kid to their first Anfield match the time he scored 4 and wrote a really nice post about how much he enjoyed it? He's such a big part of making the side so enjoyable and successful this season.

The list a few weeks ago:

Sturridge 19 + Suarez 28 = 47 goals in total.
They're currently 4th with 8 games to go.

People said last year RvP was a better player ...

Anyone who's watched him could see that what he was doing was something really really special. I think he's amongst the top 5 players to play in the premier league and if he carries on at this rate, you may see him looking at one of the best players who's ever played in England.

Wonderful talent and I can't wait to see him on Tuesday/wednesday nights wearing the famous Red and chomping on the best Europe has to offer.

That deadly duos list includes a couple of entries who played in 42 game seasons at the start of the PL. When you consider that, plus the fact that they haven't scored a penalty between them, they really are on a different planet.

Great point re: games played and penos.

That Beardo & Cole tandem was insane. Imagine if they had had a good defense?

He is still below the level he played when he was in Ajax. 81 goals in 110 games for Ajax. Current record with us 79 goals in 125 games.

Having said that, 28 goals without scoring a single penalty is out of this world. 8 more games to go. Magnificent.

Holland is far easier to score in.

Just ask Kuyt or kezman.

He's well past his level in holland

If you take into account his goals per game ratio over these last two seasons it's scary good. Messi and Ronaldo type figures.

Yep. I was the one. Nice of you to remember!

Wizzy, great call on posting those photos. My favourite moment of the whole game was seeing the Studge run straight over to Luis after scoring from his pass.

Different types of assist.
Sturridge's was a speculative one while Suarez's was well calculated. Both were brilliant in their way.

18 of those Ajax goals were penalties.

Just robbed from another site...

Only three Reds have scored more than 20 Premier League goals in a single season - Fowler twice, Torres once and Suarez last term.

Now the SAS are set to do it in the same campaign.

Suarez's hat-trick today takes his top flight tally up to 28 - which matches Robbie Fowler's Premier League record for the Reds and goes some way to threatening Alan Shearer and Andy Cole's joint record of 34.

Those 34-goal hauls were in a 42-game season too, so Shearer and Cristiano Ronaldo's joint record of 31 league goals in a 38-game campaign is even closer.

Sturridge, now on 19 strikes in the league, is also poised to fire through the 20 barrier.

While Suarez is still some way off the LFC record for most goals in a single league campaign (41 for Roger Hunt when the Reds won the Second Division in 1961/62), the SAS partnership could become the most successful in Anfield history.

Ian St. John and Roger Hunt notched 52 goals between them in 1963/64 - Suarez and Sturridge are hot on their heels with 47 in the league so far this season.
