Heading off? Barca had a sniff at Agger last year and are set to follow it up this summer

Barcelona have put Daniel Agger on top of their shopping list as they look to rejuvenate their defence.
The Spanish giants made a preliminary enquiry about Liverpool’s Danish defender last summer, but didn’t follow up when he signed a new four-year contract.
With veteran defender Carlos Puyol now 34 years old and coming to the end of the line, Barca want to reduce their age profile and are ready to return with a firm bid at the end of the season.
The Anfield club seem certain to resist, with manager Brendan Rodgers already facing up to the prospect of signing THREE central defenders in the summer.
Jamie Carragher retires at the end of the season, struggling Martin Skrtel could be sold back to former Zenit St Petersburg, and Sebastian Coates has been linked with a return to South American football having failed to impress.
Liverpool are also preparing for summer moves that Rodgers believes will help transform the club.
West Ham are not expected to take up their option on Andy Carroll, but the Reds manager is still intent on selling the England striker.
He will use the funds to cover moves from two centre-halves, a left-back, a midfielder and possibly another forward.
He has identified Swansea skipper and defender Ashley Williams and centre-back Stefan de Vrij of Feyenoord as possible targets, along with Valencia and France left-back Aly Cissoko.

HA!

PS I watched a fair bit of Cissoko last night for Valencia and though he impressed me a few years back he did not strike me as a Rodgers players. I wouldn't swap him with Enrique that's for sure if that was his normal standards. Looked clumsy at times and made a right mess out of crosses especially in the first half.

I can't say I've watched that much of him but that little I've seen has not left me impressed in the slightest

I'm living in Valencia at the minute and been to a few of the games. It's a genuine surprise when he crosses past the first man or just generally doesn't fuck up.

Then we're decided. He's not coming.

*Goes to prepare banners*

"Aly-Oops ? No thanks !".
"Aly Ciss-No-Go !"

Sounds like someone we'd sign.

Carlos Zambrano: Could be the subject of a summer bid from Liverpool

Liverpool have enquired about Eintracht Frankfurt defender Carlos Zambrano, the German club have revealed.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers looks set to revamp his backline in the summer, with veteran Jamie Carragher hanging up his boots and Martin Skrtel linked with a move away.
Swansea skipper Ashley Williams is reportedly on the Anfield club's radar, although it appears Rodgers is prepared to cast his net wider in the search for defensive recruits.
Bruno Hubner, a director at Eintracht Frankfurt, has revealed the Merseysiders have made a tentative approach for Peru international Zambrano.
The 23-year-old came through the youth academy at fellow Bundesliga outfit Schalke, though he left the club in 2010 for St Pauli in order to secure regular first-team football.
After two years with the Hamburg-based club he moved to Frankfurt last summer, playing his part in a fine campaign for Armin Veh's men to date.
The club are currently riding high in fourth place in the Bundesiga after earning promotion from Bundesliga 2 only last season.
"There's interest from Liverpool in Carlos Zambrano," said Hubner. "They have asked about him, but there has not been an offer yet."

Now I'm not as pessimistic as some regarding the fee we may get for Caroll but suggesting it will fund 5 acquisitions is fucking ridiculous!
