Match Thread Arsenal (a) - Sun October 27th 16:30

Have to say, Anthony Taylor made a few decisions in our favour. Arsenal fans not happy with him.
What over? I didn't see anything that massively impacted the game. Maybe missing the corner at the end?

I don't think we missed Jota tbh. Salah was shite mostly and struggled to link, and the midfield rarely had a meaningful pass forward.

Jota wouldn't have covered for 7 players having a bad day (Nunez not being one of them)
Maybe, I just think Jotas finesse and ability to drop deeper far more effectively than Nunez would have helped. This game didn't really suit Darwins strengths.

Reactions: mom
Trent on his game, and we likely win.

Nunez pass to salah was good - thought he'd shoot.

Gakpo should have done more imo ...

Jones was playing too slow again.

Konate is so good.

I fucking hate arsenals obvious interference on free kicks ... it's a pisstake. Which manager will call it out as it's so fucking deliberate.

Just a few fouls here and there, nothing major. It was not so much the decisions themselves, but the fact that they disrupted Arsenal’s flow of the game.

Didn't like Konate diving in on martinelli in the box. On another day it would have been a pen but for most of the match he's sound.

Like I said in the MOTM thread, we should look at the game without the emotional attachment.

We were poor once we went behind. That first 10 we looked okay and had them trapped in their half. Robbo and Virgil gave them an opportunity and they took it. Good to see us stay calm straight after the goal and then we scored.

After that our heads went. No idea why. We started giving away silly fouls and let them grow into the game. They put Trossard or Havertz on Gravy to take him out of the game and we suffered with Jones and Mac not stepping up in his place.

After half time we were the only ones in it till about the 85th when they had the third shot on target. Not bad considering they were at home and meant to be comfortably one of the best two sides in the country.

Before the game I would’ve taken a draw but thought we would be smarter about how we approached the game. However, getting a point when Robbo and Trent were terrible, Mo looking like he needed a zimmer frame and two midfielders coasting isn’t the worst result.

Pretty dire game. Game turned for us when Gabriel went off, Arsenal were there for the taking but we still, for someone reason, slowed the pace down.

A good hard earned point but we’re a fucking boring watch.

Arsenal wasting time from the 70th is hilarious

That's why they will fail

Honestly?

Not overly. The szob Vs Jones is 50/50 and Robbo Vs tsimi who knows.

What elt us down was poor poor performances.
yea i said so myself in the midfield for arsenal thread, picked szob but would’ve been happy with jones

i reckon internally robbo has been marked for replacement though but you can’t fault slot for going with a very experienced player

You know why Jones kept Palmer quiet? Because he knows him. You think Jones ego would let Palmer one up him?
Hell no.

I think Mo's getting a hard time here. Sure he wasnt amazing, but we had 1 clear cut chance in the match, and he nailed it. Ditto Nunez. Didnt do anything particularly bad, but nailed the one chance we had.

Ibou immense. Diaz i thought looked good when we gave him the ball, which wasnt enough. The rest were pathetic through to poor.

The game had slight echos of klopps matches v city and arse, in that we lacked confidence and composure, ended up hoofing the ball too often. 2nd half after a talking to, we played more footy and were decent.

We're all a bit pissed off with a draw away to Arse. Its a good sign that we feel like we're a better team.

Pointless mentioning Jota, hasn't proven be able to stay fit for any length of times during his LFC career and when he has been fit this season, hasn't been great. Never going to happen in terms of fitness.
Decent draw, the moaning on here feels like lot of entitled fans we have now become. We got a draw away at Arse after being horrible in same fixture last season, I will take that.

Mo could score a hatrick and same posters would still moan. Despite being our most productive striker and taking the only chance he did for the draw. We did OK.

Only just watched now. Ultimately a huge point in our second toughest game on paper of the season.

Trent involved in both goals and VVD and Salah score. We need all three to sign.

Nunez’s work rate was superb.

Konate easily motm he didn’t lose a duel.

We missed Dom but judging Jones away to Arsenal when Mac didn’t play well and Gravy was quiet is very harsh imo.

Also Robbo was up against argubly the best right winger in world football atm too.

Salah proving yet again how vital he is to us.

Does nothing all game but scores the crucial goal when it matters, sensational run and lay off by Nunez btw.

Would have been lovely to go top and seven points clear of them but not losing was vital today imo.

Macca has credit in the bank though.

Mo can also serve up shit sandwiches and some posters would want to give him three Michelin stars.

The whole right hand side was dog shit today.

Beggers can't be choosers, whom would you start up front?
No one is eating those shite sandwiches but not going to call it shite just when he impacts a result for the sake of saying he was shite when clearly he was just OK. Took the chance when he had in a game when we didn't create much without any functional midfield. There has been some shite Salah performance this season but this wasn't one in that sense.
I get the feeling some are watching different game sometimes. As if we had any other striker able to contribute more, sometimes you have to eat what you are given.

Right now i wouldn’t start anyone else. I would also let Salah know that level of play unacceptable. Signing Chiesa doesn’t threaten his place in the team.

Some could point and say he’s a striker, but he’s not. He’s wide right and that role needs to help out the right back. Martinelli always plays a blinder against us and Mo gave little to no support.

Today was another game where he didn’t beat anyone and should’ve done better on several occasions.

It wasn’t just him. Trent didn’t help himself. Diaz had moments but no end product. Jones and Mac nowhere near involved as they should.
