Match Thread Arsenal (a) - Sun October 27th 16:30

Endo just came on and was in a position to play the ball into the path of our only striker on the pitch, Nunez. And make Nunez go straight onto the goal. Nunez was calling for it. And Endo refused to play it. Opting instead to keep the possession.

That was one of the rare chances that Nunez could have been played through in this game. One of the rare opportunities for him to go one on one versus the defender.

When you have a striker in your team THAT'S WHAT YOU DO. You play THE BALL TO HIM ON SUCH OCCASSIONS.

In this game Nunez has had ZERO SERVICE. And that was an example of that service BEING REFUSED FOR NOTHING. For EMPTY BALL POSSESSION. Because Endo came on and he thought HE is going to try and CALM THINGS DOWN. Like he is going to TAKE CONTROL. That was an instance of IDIOTIC football and IDIOTIC decision making. And it shows what sort of a low standing Nunez has in this team. In this team Nunez is seen as a NOBODY by his teammates and nobody cares about passing the ball onto him. Yet HE IS THE ONLY STRIKER in the squad.

I dislike you but you are correct here

Still playing poorly and gifted Arsenal the goals, the first at least, and were playing catch up up to half time. I wish we could start a match by winning some individual battles.

Good result for both teams, Jota was a massive miss today in my opinion, couldn't really get much going in the final third except one or two moments. Fucking outrageous the narrative going on that this is a depleted Arsenal side, whilst making no mention of the players we are missing, however that speaks more to how good our squad is and just how shallow Arsenal's is.

Arsenal wasting time from the 70th is hilarious

That's why they will fail

so do we say slot got the lineup wrong today
Honestly?

Not overly. The szob Vs Jones is 50/50 and Robbo Vs tsimi who knows.

What elt us down was poor poor performances.

Was hard to say Slot got the line up wrong but Jones hasn't really been to string performances when fit. Macca was missing too and our midfield even Szbo came on wasn't effective in the opposition third or with any real consistent pressing.

This game is answering the "how good are we" question exactly in line with the eye test. We've become less and less productive in attack. Id be kicking myself if I were arsenal. Would feel like a loss. I'm very happy with a point. I'm not happy with how we are playing though.

I don't think we missed Jota tbh. Salah was shite mostly and struggled to link, and the midfield rarely had a meaningful pass forward.

Jota wouldn't have covered for 7 players having a bad day (Nunez not being one of them)

Today's game did show:

1) We'll need a new LB by the end of the season. Sell Kostas. Robbo becomes back up. Can't have our rivals cooking us on both flanks. Robbo used to be so reliable.

2) Diaz, there's still question marks over. If you can't beat Partey frequently, then I have to wonder whether you're actually a world class winger. I can only imagine what a prime Mane would have done to Partey.

3) Jones in the 10 didn't work. He looked better when he came back.

4) Darwin is a willing runner, but still question marks over his ability in top games. Shame we didn't have Jota to come off the bench. His injury record will cost us. Might actually need replacing.

I thought Szobo did improve us; he did well when the ball ended up in his vicinity - but overall our play was too disjointed to really make a difference.
