Andy Carroll In Danger Yo !

I'm not reading 900+ posts so I'll just quote Graham Taylor?

"what sort of thing is happening here?"

A loan to Newcastle? Fuck off.

Has Rodgers specifically said Carroll's not in his plans? I heard him say he'd talk to him or something and then everyone seemed to have decided he wants his gone?

Do I not like that?

You were one of his stronger supporters, Vlad.

Is there a deal which involved Carroll leaving that you'd be happy with? Would bringing Ba the other way be ok for you?
I thought it had been generally agreed that we saw a new Andy at the end of the season and at the Euros, a motivated, mean and mean Andy, and whilst not looking like a 35m pound Andy, as he wasn't because we paid. Premium of 10-15m, he looked like a beast, he changed his lifestyle, which everyone said he would struggle with, and knuckled down.
We had invested more than just money in him.
I don't want him sold at any price at the moment. I think it would be prudent to see if we get things fully in place and then see what happens.
If he does not fit in , is struggling, and our other forwards are doing great and there is adequate cover then do something with him in January or next year, but don't leave us short on striking options, like we have been for four years. Give the lad his Rogers chance, I think he has deserved that at least.
Which I am pretty sure is what Rogers has just said, despite people still trying to cling on to this imaginary inference that Rogers said he would be loaned out, which escalated into him being flogged.

Fucking hell man, I can't believe you're sticking doggedly to this line. It's so painfully obvious that he's for sale it's really pretty laughable you refuse to see it. And to accuse others of clinging to an improbable theory! Bizarre.

He's had all the opportunity in the world to say he's not for sale, yet he's refused to do so. Obviosuyl he has to exercise a *modicum* of restraint in his replies - he's not gonna come straight out and say he's not wanted, I don't rate him, etc. But I don't think a single other player has got this 'we'll see what happens *hint hint hint*' treatment. Do you not think that's significant?!

Not really ... 🙂 Themn implied my statements re: Ba were related to his faith (Islam). You played along ... That is all.

Did he? I hadn't realised you were an Islamophobe before Wiz. Anyway, I hope you realise that religion doesn't really play a part in a player's ability - better to leave your prejudices out of football altogether I reckon!

Well that depends. The only openly 'Jedi' practicing footy player is phenomenal (Goetze) ... so maybe ?

THIS !!!

How long have we *known* each other on here ?

Did you *really* think I thought you were one of them Islamalamadingdongs ?

Be quiet, child, before I throw you down a well.

I dunno mate - It's just a 'soft spot' for me ... Was having a bad day I guess. I'm sorry.

Have you had a bet on Carroll going Peter , I think you will get at least evens, go and stick fifty quid in it.
I would not say I am any more "dogged" in my view that this theory is based on very little evidence, than say you , for instance, who believes it is.
Now Rogers has come out and said he is not going to be loaned out under any circumstances, which was the first base if the post press conference rumour mill, but like any player, if an offer came in that made sense the bigger picture they would consider it. Which is no more or less than I would accept myself.
I think this is as close to a denial as you are going to get, probably because the club are obviously going to great lengths to say fuck all and avoid this sort of speculation all the time.
Maybe he will go I would nit be hugely surprised - but that applies to any of the squad.
In closing, I wish you could debate these things without coming across as such a fucking big twat all the time, with all this "fucking hell man" "painfully obvious" "pretty laughable you refuse to see it" shite, I have had to pull you on this sort of thing previously, and don't expect to have to do it again.
Just for the record, you may have missed it, as you are clearly looking up your own arse all the time, but someone asked for my opinion.

Ah come on, I love you really. I think you're wrong about this though. And tbh I'm not sure I'm any more obnoxious when criticising a post than many on here - I think the difference is you're one of the guys, either through fear or respect, people daren't be too blunt with, so you take more umbrage on the odd occasion you get a bit of stick. I honestly try to be consistent across all posters, at least I hope I do.

Hahahaha Vlad, are you his father or something?

The problem for me Vlad is that if you contrast his comments on Carroll to what he said about Suarez, Agger and Skrtel, it's quite different. And I don't buy the point about if an offer big enough came in, it'd be the same for any player, because it wouldn't, or it certainly shouldn't be expressed in a press conference. It's either stating the player is available or that EVERY player has a price - thus, selling club? If he said the same about Suarez, most on here would be livid, and rightly so, because it would be suggesting we would be open to offers if they were reasonable enough. Now that might be the case behind closed doors, as it probably is at many clubs, but you don't say it do you?

I agree that people can read too much into things, and as you and I well know, people on here tend to dissect EVERYTHING and are always looking for something, when most of the time it's not there. I just don't get that impression on this occasion, not when you factor everything that's been said. He seems to A) be open to the suggestion that Carroll doesn't fit his system and B) be willing to listen to offers. He's knocked neither point on the head when given, now, a couple of opportunities to do so. Once is a slip of the tongue, bad editing or unintentional ambiguity, two or three times acting shifty about the topic is a thinly veiled attempt at letting the World know all is not right when it comes to big Andy staying at Liverpool.

And for the record, I am a fan, so I'm not looking for something that isn't there because I don't rate him and I want him gone. I'd be happy for him to stay. I can see why the money would be a draw though, especially if he's going to ultimately be a bit part player.

OK , fair enough Peter, I would like to think people respect my views as usually they are laced with lashings of common sense and are utterly reasonable and based in objective reasoning - usually

Hahahaha Vlad, are you his father or something?

LOL I was proper rude to him a few months ago about his opinion of Benitez, and as so often when I get a bit lively I quickly regretted it, and PM'd him an apology. I can only assume he thinks I was prompted to do that by his (no doubt vitriolic) reply in the thread, but in fact I never read it - I knew it'd be pretty tasty and I was already feeling a bit sheepish about being so abusive so I just avoided it. So in case you doubted it Vald, there's the truth - it was a genuine apology from the heart. 🙂

Fuck! I don't pull punches if someone is being a dick, whether I've met them or not.

In fact I find it easier to be critical in the manner most befitting, so what you may be seeing is people being slightly less abrasive simply because you would be in person. Vlad is of a slightly older persusian (sorry vlad!) so one wouldnt perhaps refer to him as a cunt in joking conversation in the pub as easily as one would a 20 to 30 year old.

I don't think there's less criticism, just perhaps less insults or thrown round!

I can't work out if you're agreeing with me there or not!

Ha, I'm tired, so my posts are all over the shop today.

I'm agreeing that the tone towards vlad maybe different than towards you, Andy, Nessie, fabio etc, but I don't think for a second that someone would not call it as they see it simply cos they've met any poster, they just tailor their posts slightly differently, as they would speak to people differently in reality.

As Andy often says, he speaks to people on here as he does in reality, I think most of our posters who have met up do (except break your jaw skully), so you will notice difference in tone, as I would never call an over 50 year old a cunt if I liked them, whereas I'd openly call Peter, fabio etc a cunt knowing they'd not take offence.

Yeah, it's not a regular event that I agree with Peter but I've read that three times now and I still can't quite decide what you're saying.😕
