We've made an enquiry according to the dude reporting outside the etihad. What does everyone think of him?

I'd have him, a few think he's a muppet and a one trick pony, he's got massive potential and is infinitely better than what we've currently got, so..

It's all about his attitude for me.

But I know fuck all about it, he looks like he could be a good player though

He can score goals, which gives him a massive headstart on anyone else in our squad. Don't know how he'd fare with the pressing high up the pitch though. Bit lazy in his defensive work

Johnson is way better than anything we have (although I am obviously reserving judgement on Assaidi). Quick, skillful, scores goals. His attitude is questionable but if we can get the best out of him then he could be a very useful pickup. Depending on the price, I'd definitely take a punt on him.

Anyone that can take Downings place gets the tumb up from me.

But I am a tad sceptical to have another summer where we sign no-one of real quality, just a gang of people that might become good under the right circumstances. We need someone that go straight in and command the games.

That was the argument that people used for Downing last season.

Which is a little worrying

No, I believe the argument with Downing was simply, "he's better than anything we have", which I hate, because £20m on an incremental improvement is ridiculous. Johnson would represent a massive improvement on anything we have, and if managed correctly, could quite easily become one of the best wingers in the league. Plus I wouldn't expect him to cost anywhere near £20m, so dependent on how much we can bargain down the price, I think he's definitely a risk worth taking. What's more, given our relative lack of funds, it's precisely the sort of risk we need to take to try and close the gap on the teams above us.
