Several media outlets reporting that he wants to leave City. Bigg loss for them if true.

Yaya Toure wants to leave Manchester City and could take a pay-cut to force a move. The Ivory Coast midfielder, 31, was angry that City took time to give him a new deal last year and was upset that no-one from the club wished him happy birthday last week.

He'll get a new bumper contract and everythings all right.

If City lose Yaya and Chelsea lose Hazard. Quite a task to replace those two.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Good one.

His agent is really shameless. And with all due respect to Yaya as a footballer, he is a mercenary. It's all about the money for him. Eto'o is also like this. That's a type of player I could respect, but never love.

His agent is obv.driving this, but players need to control their agents better when things start getting this silly.

That said, had we been in with any realistic chance of signing him I wouldn't have said no.

The society for black lawyers have described Man city's dreadful track record of negligence in regards to delivery of commemorative acknowledgements as a crime against humanity. They have called for an inquiry into why no outlook reminder was set for this and blamed institutionalised racism.

Yaya was later seen taking a supplement with his birthday cake.

In other news Piara Powar, Lord Herman Ouseley and Jason Roberts have called for the outlawing of black kits for referees, saying it perpetuates the stereotypical association of blackness as threatening and hateful.

Apparently the Manchester Evening News have posted a video of the city squad on the plane yesterday singing happy birthday & giving him a cake.

Whoops. Silly agent.

This happens every year, apparently.

I'd say Yaya's got a role model in City - Vieira and his annual "will he go or will he stay" dance with Arsenal back then.

Yaya probably saw Rooney drawing 300K a week while winning nowt and not even making the CL and thought, "Hey, that's not right".

On the plane you say? Perhaps the candles weren't lit & that's why he's annoyed.

This is the stupidest story. He wants out because no-one said happy birthday to him! Ha ha! Fuck me I wish I was a footy journo.

It wouldn't surprise me if that was true

the quotes are brilliant

Seluk added: "They don't know that money can't buy relationships – no Sheikh can buy a relationship. This isn't about money or a new contract – it's about human relationships and City have shown they don't respect him. I repeat, this is not about money. In fact, he would take less to return to Barcelona."
In reference to the birthday snub, Seluk said: "What happened at his birthday meant the club don't care about him. It was proof. They can say whatever they want, 'Oh we like him but we forgot'.
"Forgot? About Yaya? The player who helped you to be two-times Premier League champions? The guy who helped you win the FA Cup and the League Cup?
"His birthday can be on a normal day and, in a normal team, his team-mates and club would at least give him good wishes.
"But when you win the title on May 11, a day later you go to Abu Dhabi and on May 13 you have a big party to celebrate the title and nobody comes to Yaya to say, 'Happy birthday', what more do you want?"

poor the yaya.
