Wouldn't it be great for the club and for the lad himself if he could get and stay fit? Remember when he signed very few of us rated him all that highly. We were wrong and Rodgers deserves credit for keeping him happy while previous managers have struggled with his attitude. It'll be interesting to see how our front five or six line-up once he's fit.
Great player and I really hope he returns on form and can stay injury free.
Feel for him being injured and some of the comments about him have been ridiculous.
If he can stay fit we'll have a great chance of finishing in the top 4.
If he can stay fit then we become serious contenders for the Champions League places. Without him I struggle to see it. A lot of money rests on holding his body together.
Heh. If he were that though, he'd have had league appearance stats like Alou Diaby, or Harry Kewell.
Question: Who has played more league games in:
(a) the past 2 seasons combined (2013/14 - 2014/15)
(b) the past 3 seasons (2012/13 - 2014/15)
Sturridge, Walcott, or Wilshere?
Answer: (a) Daniel Sturridge: 29 + 12 = 41 games in 2 seasons; Walcott: 27, Wilshere : 38 (b) Jack Wilshere : 25 + 24 + 14 = 63 games in 3 seasons; Walcott: 59, Sturridge: 62 (7 for Chelsea)
But none of these guys are a patch on Kewell, who ended up with 39 games in his last 3 seasons (57 in the last 4 - so all three above have already beaten him here) before we gave up and sent him to Galatasaray.
