Weekend Games Aug 30th

I've really enjoyed watching footy this weekend.

If all teams stayed at the level they've shown this weekend wed walk the league, beating Chelsea by virtue of the points we'll take off them.

Shame it doesn't work like that.

Arsenal are gonna get at least one shoeing again this season, they're shite against players that run at them with the ball, they all back off & leave it someone else until they realise there's no one else left to do anything about it.

Let's hope it us that get to enjoy it.

Enjoyed watching Spurs, Arsenal, Man City and Man Utd pick up a combined 2 points in 4 different matches this weekend. Great that Everton lost too, but too bad it was against Chelsea.

yep. Expected more from Everton though.
They proved how shite Chelsea can be at the back though. There'll be loads of teams who now know they can't go out at them toe to toe like Everton did but can try to hit them on the break & stay compact at the back.

Some of those teams will get lucky & take points off them.

Arsenal's defending for the equalizer was just atrocious. How defenders let goals like this happen I'll never know. You can see the play developing, you can see the opponent running into the box, you know a high cross is most likely to come in, and yet, you totally leave the guy in the box unmolested.

I really don't think Koscielny should have been allowed to stay on the pitch after that collision - he was clearly out of it.

So after playing Southampton, City and Spurs, we're level on points with City and Spurs, and ahead of United, Everton and Arsenal, despite having the harder start by far (only Everton's is close imo), lovely. I said before the season started we needed 6 points from these three tough games to keep us at the front, and not chasing, well we've done that, a great way to go into the international break.

Aston Villa (Home)
West Ham (Away)
Everton (Home)
WBA (Home)
QPR (Away)
Hull (home)

I would be looking for at least 16 points from this next run .... if we get it I bet we're top.

James and Isco were very poor.
James hasn't exactly had the best of starts to his Madrid career.

Wow. Gutted I didn't stay in and watch the Real game now. I saw Ramos put them ahead really early on so figured it wasn't worth it. Dammit.

Barca managed to squeeze out a laborious 1-0 victory over a pretty resolute Villarreal. I used to watch Barca because they were so gloriously entertaining - now I find them a bit dull after watching Liverpool. How things have changed.

Yup. 2-0 up and should have been more... I thought it was going to be a massacre. Wished I had watched as well.
