Insignificance

If I remember correct there were quite a few here who rates him and wanted him here. What are the thoughts on him now (not refering to the usual about his looks etc). If you are able to look besitte the fact it is Scum, does he have what it takes to success in EPL?

Everything looks a bit crap over there, team seems disjointed and not sure of what it's supposed to be, he seems to be getting easily baited into off the field rants, however they keep winning, which is really annoying.

He's a stubborn dinosaur.

If a manager who understands the current game had his squad/finances they'd be unreal to watch.

Not that I'm complaining.

I have heard mancs fans missing Moyes ( for some stupid reason).

Just another Dinosaur of Dinosaur manager that has failed to move with the times..

They are going to get a real spanking of someone before the end of the season... I can feel it...

The media keep saying that Van Gaal is getting more time from the fans than Moyes because he is playing more attractive football. Every time I have watched them recently it has been anything but. Cross after cross aimlessly sent into the box towards no one in particular in the first half (very reminiscent of Moyesball from last year) followed by moving Fellaini forward and lumping long balls towards him in the second half.

Ive got a real hatred for everything about him, starting with his ridiculous high hair which he clearly dyes but leaves a bit of grey as if he's kidding anyone

He reminds you of your dad?

I think he's getting time from the fans because of the position they're at, which is as much a result of the teams around them bar Southampton not starting well. It almost feels like a couple of the "class of 92" in the media are out to undermine him and push for their old mate Giggs to take the role at some point. Scholes has certainly not been stingy in his criticism of Van Gaal and his ways, and Gary Neville hasn't been too complimentary either.

And yes, when I've watched them, they've been really shit. Perhaps if he gets into the CL, he'll get another window to bring his own guys in to rebuild their defence and midfield, and maybe then we can properly judge him. If he doesn't make CL this season though, I think all bets are off.

LVG has surprised me a little. I was always presumed he was tactically astute. He did well at Barca and Bayern playing decent football.

He seems happy to get the job done and is sticking to a game plan that is working. Lumping Felaini up front at times isn't pretty but one loss in 19??

They do seem disjointed all over the pitch and his reluctance to play Herrara is odd. Sickened those jokers beat us 3 nil.

I think they expected a return to attacking football after Moyes tried to turn ManU into Everton Mk.2, and are naffed off because LVG hasn't provided it.

Wonder if this might turn out to have been one appointment too many and his best days are behind him now. Here's hoping.

They're playing like shite but still got 1 loss in 19 games. 3rd in the league and look odds on getting CL footy.
If they didn't have De Gea they'd have about 12 points less.

I'm just waiting for them to fall apart again but it doesn't seem to be happening. They grind out lucky undeserved results week in week out. Seems familiar...

We will smash them at anfield.. I have this feeling...

I laughed when they got him. Thought he was all wrong for them and still do.

I would hate to have him here.

I have heard from a few manc fans that his plan this season is to not take too risks with attacking flair and just get into the CL.

Then next season unleash his attacking plan and bring back sexy football.

Let's hope he fails at the first step in his plan.

I dont wish to talk about wether or not they will succeed under him, because they are soul sold motherfuckers and always seem to rise to the top like a too fat turd.
However I would like to say that he is fucking annoying in interview. Everytime he opens his mouth I want to punch my own face off.
I cannot fucking stand his voice or way of speaking.

He is efficient

They are FAR from odds-on to finish Top 4, regardless of their results so far this season the way they are performing, and escaping by the skin of their teeth many times, must have alarm bells ringing at OT.
At the moment I'd rate their chances not much better than ours except that we are now looking far more like the stylish, successful, team of last season (though EL football may change that for the worse for us). Arsenal have by far the easiest run-in (only 1 game remaining of their matches against the Top 7) and Southampton too have an easy final ⅓ of the season with no encumbrances and just a couple against the Top 7. In terms of difficulty it goes : Arsenal > Southampton > United > Liverpool & Spurs equal.

I crunched some numbers recently based on predicted results till the end of the season - just for shits & giggles.

Spurs & Arsenal make the CL - we're 6th & Man Ure finish 7th.

It's all pretty tight with about 3 points separating all 5 teams.

If we are to finish top 4 I think we'll need to beat either Southampton or Man City, winning probably 10 of the last 13. At least a draw against Southampton, preferable a win is needed.

Taking points off Arsenal & beating Man Ure at Anfield are essential.

Is this correct? I just looked at their fixtures list, and it goes like this:

Feb 21: Crystal Palace (A)
Feb 28: Everton (H)
Mar 3: Queens Park Rangers (A)
Mar 14: West Ham (H)
Mar 21: Newcastle United (A)
Apr 4: Liverpool (H)
Apr 11: Burnley (A)
Apr 18: Sunderland (H)
Apr 25: Chelsea (H)
May 2: Hull City (A)
May 9: Swansea City (H)
May 16: Manchester United (A)
May 24: West Brom (H)

Its been about 25 games with these performances though. 1 loss in 19 games.
I'd say they look in pretty good shape to get it at the moment.

I hope with every fiber in my body that it changes. Quickly.

Most bookies rate United at 2/5 to finish top 4 and us at 7/2. I don't think that's far from the truth.
