Except you've been saying it with reference to him playing DM, mate, and he's conclusively proved it wrong with a succession of MOTM performances against those very teams in his true position.

Erm, no I haven't jules.
I'm talking about his positional sense at right-back being a concern. Would you like me to find the posts I've made on this subject over the last few months?
I'll take your word for it, Ryan. Must have missed the threads in question, which may have something to do with the fact that Masher's played RB what, maybe two or three times?
I disagree with people saying Rafa should play Johnson right midfield instead of right back.
I'm sure he would do a great job further forward but he'd also be easier and tighter marked as the opposing full back will be directly marking him. Whereas when he's at right back he runs from deeper hence making it harder for opponents to pick him up.
He's been a right back for most of his career so it would be daft to play him a right winger all of a sudden.
And as someone has already said, his defensive difficulties are exaggerated a great deal.
I think Johnson's a brilliant footballer and can't wait to see him back in action.

Agree. Witness the trainwreck of Degen being tried at RM, after some good attacking play from him from RB.
