If you look up the tag #sven on twitter you'll see that the some English guy met him on a street in Boston yesterday or the day before and got his photo taken with him. I saw it yesterday. Probably nothing.

I wish I could feel confident in believing that, but it comes from the man who broke the "Chinese buyout" story.

Am 99% sure AVB has got it.

OK folks, so my swing-o-meter has just moved back to 50/50 between AVB & Martinez. Both being interviewed in Boston today/tomorrow

Mike Jefferies@mikejefferiesL4
Now I have no idea other than it will be AVB or RM. That's all.

Bloomberg Liverpool exclusive: Billy Hogan to be appointed new commercial director; Ian Ayre given great responsibility under new contract.

Not directly related to the manager, but shows they are doing things behind the scenes, and probably means the official appointment of a new manager and DOF aren't far off.

Hogan was born on Boston’s South Shore but grew up in Cleveland. After graduating from Trinity College in Hartford, Hogan returned to Boston. His big break came in 2004 when Fenway Sports Group was established. The marketing group was formed by the holding company for the Red Sox, Fenway and New England Sports Network (NESN) to expand its marketing beyond Major League Baseball.
Career highlights include watching the Red Sox win two World Series championships in recent years and helping transform Fenway into a venue for hockey and world-class soccer matches.
“It’s pretty good coming to work every day,” Hogan said.
Hogan’s role is to help FSG identify big ideas and make them happen. And the ideas aren’t just Boston ones. FSG and Hogan helped bring Sun Life Financial closer together with the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. The closer relationship happened at an opportune time, allowing Sun Life stadium to be in the spotlight for the NFL Pro Bowl and Super Bowl XLIV.
Going forward, Hogan said, he’ll continue to focus on core properties such as the Red Sox, NESN, Boston College and MLB.com.
