That was the season that was

A little bit pathetic...

Our team lacks balls.. We need leaders in the side.. Bunch of fannies..

Teams around us have the momentum.. We will do well to pick ourselves up after that humiliating defeat..

The big question for me.. If we finish 7th, which is Looking increasingly likely.. Does Rodgers keep his job.. ??

Rafa lost his finishing 7th.. so did Kenny..

I can see the arguments for keeping him.. but he has got more wrong this season than he has got right...

I didnt think 3-4-3 would be the answer long term.. It was only gong to be a matter of time before we where going to get found out..

If he does go though.. who do you replace him with?

I'd give him another season.. at least till Christmas.. to sort us out.. If he doesn't then is position has to be in doubt..

Though I am very dubious over letting him have any control over transfers..

The biggest issue this season, is that Last season we built a team around the player we failed to replace adequately..

We bought Squad players (with the exception of Can) and two shite forwards...

I'd keep Rodgers. Talk of getting rid of him is severely premature. Give him another season. I also still think we'll finish fifth. Not that I give a shit, like.
I'd keep him.. but we require a drastic improvement... Midfielder (playmaker) and a Striker

We need a worldy in the side. A player that can lift the rest of the team.. and some balls..

We have too many meh players..

Balo
Allen
Johnson
Lambert
Moreno
Markovic

To name a few are poor players.. I've lost patience with Markovic..

To be honest, I feel a bit sorry for Balotelli. He's not set the world alight when he's played at all, but he has been given less chances by the manager than has been given to other players. I'd give him a run up top. What's to lose?

I think Markovic needs time. He's a young player in a foreign country. He certainly has potential.

Another point.

Henderson on the wing!!! Its never worked.. We actually started looking decent when he came back into the centre..

Lucas and Allen in midfield.. its never worked..

I think Rodgers may have to give up on the 3 4 3 and move to a new system....

I got the impression he was shifted out there to accommodate that brat Sterling.

Change the formation, rather than move an effective key player out of position.. If he really must stick with 343.. stick Johnson at RWB.. drop Allen and bring Hendo back into the centre

Agree about Markovic but not about Balotelli. He was given a good solid block of games in the first half of the season, and was worse than useless. BTW someone said on the radio after the game this afternoon that he could have been on the bench but declared himself unfit to play at the last minute.

We've not really recovered that well. Before the manc match, if you'd believed the hype, you'd've thought we were back to the standards of last year, when the reality was we'd never threatened to dominate teams like we did this time last year. Rodgers did well to recover after the awful lows of the autumn, but the thing that worries me about his team is that it's all down to pace. If the team keeps up the speed, it looks decent, but when it's slowed down it looks incredibly predictable. Our passing and movement just hasn't been good enough, so when it's slowed down it's way too easy for other teams to anticipate and intercept. The movement up front has been awful - Sturridge, Sterling, Balotelli, they've all been far too meek and static. The defence continues to immerse itself in a game all of their own - it is far too often laboured faffing about with no positive end result. And the midfield has been an exasperatingly unpredictable mess. We need at least two really powerful, clever players to give this bunch a bit of direction and experience.

If we don't get fourth then I'd rather end up out of the Europa too. I would much rather do without the distraction and demand and focus on getting fourth again. Rogers will get another season and it's probably fair.
We have no balls at the moment as the only two players who had any last season weren't playing today. One is in Spain and the other is on his way out too.

Each time we lose a game, these sort of shit threads pop up and they're usually started by that stupid ninja.
What so shit about this thread. Or are you in acceptance with mediocrity ?

@gkmacca excellent post very well put.

I agree the team requires two strong players to be brought in..

Summer we have to sack of in parts the 'youth policy' and bring in proven players, rather than players with potential..

We did that last Summer. Lallana and Lovren were our proven players. One was a disaster and the other has been average.

We've been found out to be the frauds Manchester United was purported to be. Honestly, we struggled throughout the vast majority of our unbeaten run to start the calendar year, but we found a way to get results... the match against Manchester City (and probably Tottenham) the only times we really impressed, and even then the performances were a long way off what we were accustomed to last season.

The biggest concern going forward is how we're going to fill the ever-growing number of holes in our side. A dominant central midfielder and proper goalscoring forward should be the minimum we bring in, but how are we going to afford them? And what about the holes at the back and elsewhere that need to be addressed.

Such a disappointment after last season... I still have hope we can go on to win the FA Cup, but it's going to be a big ask to erase the last two defeats in time for the midweek game at Blackburn. With us out of the mix for Champions League football and the scum almost assuredly back in, at least trophy to add to the cabinet would ease the pain a bit.

Mid table next season unless the board invest. invest in the squad and we will get back in the CL again. Speculate to accumulate and all that. Either that or we could be struggling in fifth for years to come.

The top four as they stand now are all loaded and will only get richer next season. We're gonna get left behind unless the board put their money where their mouths are.

Like Ballotelli and Moreno eh?
Neither are proven.. really..

Young players. With potential type bracket..

When I say proven. Players that have done it.. approaching their prime..

Players with Strength, Balls and experience..
