Tevez (this years Barry thread?)

Re: Tevez

This from the Guardian suggests otherwise:

As well as a host of top European clubs, including Real Madrid and Internazionale, Liverpool are also said to be monitoring Tevez's position, although the striker has decided not to entertain the idea of a switch to Anfield out of respect to the Old Trafford supporters who again implored Ferguson to "sign him up".

A large proportion of the silly bastards on RedCafe are convinced he is on his way here and they don't like it one bit

Re: Tevez

Tevez wants Anfield move

According to reports in The Lying Rag newspaper, Manchester United’s want away striker Carlos Tevez is keen to join bitter rivals Liverpool over the summer.

The player has been linked with a move to Manchester City, Arsenal and Real Madrid, as well as the Merseyside club, but it seems the diminutive Argentine is eager to keep his family in Cheshire, and has pinpointed Rafa Benitez’s Anfield outfit as his preferred choice.

The newspaper alleges that Liverpool have contacted Tevez’s owner Kia Joorabchian to register their interest, which will undoubtedly infuriate United’s hierarchy and fans.

Sir Alex Ferguson blocked Gabriel Henize’s move to Liverpool two years ago, and is loathe to sell any players to their league chasing rivals.

As it stands Ferguson has not taken up the option to permanently sign the former West Ham striker, as a further £24 million is required on top of the £8 million they have already spent.

Why does it bother saying this though:

They're not the one's selling... :-\

Re: Tevez

Yeah it's probably a load of shite, especially considering the source.

Like you said though, unless Utd were to sign him Fergie has no control where he goes at all.

A)He stays at the mancs and they blow their summer budget on a player they already have.
B)He leaves and goes abroad and weakens them.
C)He leaves and comes here and we get strengthened.

Re: Tevez

I think Rafa's "interest" is to ensure that ferguson signs him, thus using up 25mill of his budget on a player he already has.

Its a joke that they have been allowed to have a player like him on loan for two years

Is so right.

Will be so sweet.

Re: Tevez

Me too. Terrific little lad he is. And as hes never been owned by United i dont feel too bad.

Re: Tevez

He could be our version of Cantona.
Leaves the league champions and wins league with new club first season. Former club doesn't win league again and ends up playing in the third tier division. Result!

Re: Tevez

I've said it before, I wouldn't put it past Ginsoak to buy him and not play him that much if it prevented us having him. Like he gives a shit about 20mill.

He's a decent player, but I'd rather we spent some big bucks on pace and flair, rather than a slightly better Kuyt.

It's surely down to Tevez aswell, though I wouldn't put anything past his owners, he seems pretty vocal about being unsettled at Old Trafford.

Good point. Things may have gone too far now for him even to want to stay there, though whether he'll actually come here is another matter.

When he joined us he became a red, Tevez Tevez,
He made fergie take it up the bum Tevez Tevez,
He may be an ugly cunt,
He even makes Dirk's face look good,
But he's Carlos Tevez, liverpool's No10.

Re: Tevez

still our priority should be someone comfortable in a wide position who is a genuine goal threat.
kuyt isn't going to be dropped and gerrard is a forward now so where would tevez play?

Well we have to think of the longterm aswell. How old is Kuyt? 28? And Gerrard is getting older too, he'd be a great option who you'd have to assume ultimately would be a first teamer.
