No, they won't. They're trying to weasel out of a deal they already agreed with Joorabchian over the price, and he - with my full sympathy this time - isn't going to let them do that.

This really is United being arrogant assuming that he would be so grateful that he is allowed to play for them that they would forget the original deal they signed.
I would really love us to snatch him from them, and for him to do really well and a be a great crowd favourite of ours.
He would really know what it was really like to be loved (unless he turned out like Lucas of course) 😉

The whole Tevez saga is a bit strange. I think it's more down to them agreeing a fee when the loan deal was signed. And now want to get a better deal. Kia will probably spill the beans when his future is solved.

Didn't Gill say as much the other day, citing the global credit crunch as evidence the fee would need to be renegotiated?
Real Madrid reportedly offering 40m euro for him the other day wouldn't have helped Gill's bargaining position.
