AC Milan in talks with Liverpool over signing Suso on a season-long loan deal

Liverpool are in talks with AC Milan about offloading Suso on a season-long loan deal.
Milan's offer for the Spaniard includes the view to a permanent transfer the following summer.
The Spanish midfielder officially arrived from Cadiz CF in the summer of 2010 but has only made 20 appearances in total since making his debut in a Europa League victory over Swiss side Young Boys in 2012.

On the move? AC Milan are in talks with Liverpool to take Suso on a season-long loan
The 20-year-old spent last term on loan at Spanish side Almeria and is likely to find regular first team football hard to come by at Anfield this campaign.
Suso scored three goals in 33 league appearances for the La Liga outfit as they finished 17th - one point above safety last season.
If the Spaniard were to move to Italy, it would be the second transfer to happen between the clubs following Mario Balotelli's £16million move to Liverpool earlier in August.

Not really Ryan. It means we are giving him away for free.
Jack Robinson we get 1m for Suso free!?

Obviously Mr Rodgers doesnt rate him so I have to trust the man, but surely we should have protected our asset. If we had given him a 3 year deal and still loaned him out every year for 3 years we lose nothing.

Hes clearly going to be like Carlos Vela and not cut it at the top, but at least worth a couple of mill after all the money we have invested in him.
Its a shit deal.

Vela scored 16 goals for Sociadad last season. I don't understand.

I think if he's going on loan, we'll be giving him a new deal. If we've got no intention of signing him up, then it's a bit pointless him going on a "year long" deal, when he can do what he likes in a few months.

It was a bit weird that three of the most promising youngsters who were taken on tour came back and were left on the outside - Petersen was added to the squad because he'd impressed Rodgers and then was sold, Ibe looked really exciting and was then loaned (not a bad decision, of course, but if Sterling was given a chance at a similar stage then I'd say Ibe deserved the same) and now Suso is off. I hope he's still in the plans because he's a gem who has been polished more and more by us over the past few years and it would be great if we were the ones who reaped the benefits.

Sterling got the chance he did because of the lack of quality and depth in the squad at that time though didn't he? Along with his potential and ability of course.

The same can't be said for Ibe now. As promising as he may be, he's behind 6-7 quality others for a chance. He simply had to go on loan.

Suso Wants to Avoid Deadline Day Liverpool Exit Despite Contract Expiration

By Eduardo Fernandez-Abascal

Liverpool prodigy Suso has told IBTimes UK he is not looking for a move away before the end of the transfer window – even though he has been out of the squad in the first two Premier League games and his contract will expire next summer.

The 20-year-old spent the last season on loan at Almeria where he played 35 matches in all competitions, scoring three goals and grabbing nine assists in the process.

IBTimes UK recently revealed Liverpool have handed Suso a five-year renewal deal which was immediately rejected by the Spaniard – meaning this summer will be the last chance for the Merseyside club to secure a profit for his services.

Nevertheless, when asked about his future in an interview with IBTimes UK, Suso said: "Liverpool are not likely to sell me and I do not want to leave either. What I would like is to stay here.

"In December I will be free agent but what I want is to renew here. I am very happy. I know the city and the club and I would like to stay."

The Spaniard also ruled out another loan move as with his contract expiring next summer, it wouldn't make sense for Liverpool.

"I only have one year left on my contract so I can not go out on loan", he said.

"The club have tried to renew me and I want to renew. But I have other offers too. It will depend on how things move forward this season. A player wants to play, it's what I want too. We've only played three games so let's be patient.

"I believe I've become a more complete player during my loan spell at Almeria. That was the goal when I decided to go, to improve as a player and be more ready for this season at Liverpool. "

When questioned whether he is disappointed after being left out of the squad for the two Premier League first games against Southampton and Manchester City, he said: "This year Liverpool have a very large squad.

"After spending so much money and having signed many players the competition is bigger and is more difficult to play. I did not expect to be out of the team after a good preseason but I am going to train hard to convince the manager that I can be there.

"They are technical decisions. Coaches have their opinions. There are many players, but soon we will play the Champions League and then I guess the manager will have to administer all the players."

I think that's the unfortunate thing in a lot of cases - timing and luck plays a massive part.

If I remember rightly, De Gea was third choice and only got a chance after Assenjo, very young himself and considered very promising, injured his thumb or something ridiculous shortly after signing and then then another got injured too. He did well and kept his place.

We keep saying the same thing about Suso - immensely talented and hope we get to see him flourish at Liverpool. He always seems to find himself looking in from the outside though.

If we can get him to sign a deal and then loan him out again that'd be great. But realistically it's probably his last chance to really show he's ready to come back to Liverpool.

With that in mind, I'm not sure Milan is the best move. They're not the most stable of clubs and I can see him spending too much time on the bench (that's not necessarily an indictment of his quality).

He needs to go to a club like Southampton, a team that play good football and are happy enough to trust youngsters because they have no real pressure to achieve anything.

True, yes, I guess he was in the right place at the right time. But I'd say Ibe is looking better than Sterling was at the same stage. Derby is a good choice. Bolton would have been horrible.
