Agreed. His fitness had stabilised before Hodgson knocked it off course again, and we ought now to have a better idea of the way forward with him after his time in Boston. It may yet happen, but there's some hope there that it doesn't have to.

Don't be silly. There's no problem with doing that. When some of us reckon you're overdoing it, though, expect to be pulled up on it. It's called debate.

Ah.. I am so sorry. Thou shall not point out if certain players need to perform better I see....

It's not really about that, it's about judging them fairly under the right conditions. He's clearly struggled all season with injury, so it's difficult to gauge "effort".

Indeed. Not many remember his poor games, but suarez had a run of them whenever he was overplayed, made bad decisions & got greedy by trying too hard.

Torres is easier to remember doing this. Whenever he wasn't fully fit he was greedy yet ineffectual & it turned him into a diving moaning cunt too.

I'm seeing almost the same pattern of pay from Sturridge, only he isn't blaming anyone else or getting himself sent off.

He had a run of games last season without suarez in the side & showed everything people are demanding of him now, so he is capable of it, but I believe to do so he needs to be fully match fit for a couple of games at least.

Common sense again.

Have you ever posted rubbish? cos if you have, I can't recall it. *man-hug*

Daniel Sturridge has visited a surgeon in Boston to assess whether an operation is required on the hip injury that may have brought his season to a premature end.
The Liverpool striker, who has not played for Brendan Rodgers’ team since suffering the injury at Blackburn Rovers on 8 April, may require minor surgery on his latest fitness problem and has travelled to the United States for an assessment. He spent time earlier this season with the medical staff of the Boston Red Sox, who share owners with Liverpool in Fenway Sports Group, in an attempt to solve the thigh and calf problems that had blighted his season.
Rodgers has said he is unsure whether the 25-year-old will play for Liverpoolagain before the summer as a result of the hip injury. Surgery, if it is deemed the best course of action, may ensure the striker is fit for the start of pre-season training.
Sturridge has appeared in only 18 of Liverpool’s 54 matches this season and his absences have compounded the loss of Luis Suárez and contributed to the dramatic decline in the team’s goals tally. His status as Liverpool’s leading striker for next season is under threat with Rodgers stating he wants to sign a proven goalscorer able to perform “at the top level every week”.
Memphis Depay, PSV Eindhoven’s leading scorer this season with 21 goals in their title-winning campaign, albeit while operating from the wing, is a prime target for the Liverpool manager.

So he's only played in 18 out of 54 this season and will miss the last 4 also. So that means he's only going to play in 31% of our games this season and how many of them was he returning from fitness? I really do hope for the lad that we can sort his injuries once and for all over the summer. If this does continue we will have to get rid.

The season is over so why not just get Studge fit for next season.

We should already tell him now that the internationals in Aug/Sept are a no go.
