Sturridge

He's a good player that has has been unlucky with injuries this season.

This is true - but for me there's more.

He's one of the players that seems to get very aggrieved at every decision that doesn't go his way - but unlike Suarez who would almost go crazy on a personal mission to "right the wrong" Sturridge just seems to throw his arms up and feel hard done by.

Sweeping generalisation, I know, but I think that tells you about the differences in each of their backgrounds & upbringings.

Sturridge has abilty, absolutely no doubt, forget the injuries - like every sportsperson, it's about whether the have the mentality to succeed regardless of whatever the face and not look for the first excuse that's not your fault as to why you don't.

We have too many of the latter players at the minute.

I've suggested for some time that Dr Peters, the sports psychologist, should be consulted more often to analyse individuals and devise plans accordingly. I do think that mindset makes the finished article.

I wouldn't be surprised if the club takes the same view. Unfortunately we have to make do with whatever time he's willing to devote to LFC. He can pretty much name his own fee these days so it would probably be massively expensive to buy more of his time.

Backgrounds rather than upbringings, I suspect. The Studge comes from a very decent family, and one which has strong football connections.

Let me borrow a phrase from the injury ridden NFL.

Availability is the best ability. Prepare as if he'll never be back. But don't give up on him.

I'm truly excited about Origi being here. It is a pity we had to pay such a a heavy price to sign him, 10m+a season in that shit team.

Don't know why people are excited by Origi, he's looked dreadful everytime i've seen him

Absolutelty ditto - have only watched 4/5 Lille games but he has been pretty anomynous in most of them. Don't believe the hype

He doesn't look dreadful, he's got all the raw attributes - pace, power, bravery and a cracking shot. He needs alot of work though, if people are expecting him to hit the ground running, they'll likely be disappointed. But he has played in a shit team this season and out of position alot of the time. He needs a bit of confidence and quality around him.

Hahaha. So not us then.

He was 20 a few days ago, he's got 8 goals this season in a poor Lille team and 2 International goals (3 in 13 appearances). At his age it's not bad stats, he needs to come over here and learn how to stay involved and not be peripheral, as he has been guilty of in too many games, ie the Everton game in France, he was brilliant for the first 15 minutes, then Jagielka and Stones figured him out and kept him out the game.

It's a learning curve, this season will have done him good because he's played in Europe, played for Belgium and figured for pretty much a whole season in the league for a struggling side. We need to buy a quality player who is a proven goalscorer, but Origi will be ideal to have, for an alternative and to give cover to Sturridge. Borini, Lambert and Mario will all probably go, so leaving us with Sturridge, Origi and a top quality striker would be great. When we have three up top, we have players like Sterling (hopefully), Ibe, Lallana and Coutinho who can call play those roles.

That's from 20 starts and 8 games coming on as a sub (total 1,901 mins) for Lille in Ligue 1 (so 238 mins per goal in the league) and in 7 International appearances in 2014/15.

Sterling has 7 goals in 29 starts and 1 game coming on as a sub (total 2,603 mins) in the PL this season (so 372 mins per goal in the league), 8 in 45 (1 goal every 400 mins) for all PL/CL/EL/FAC matches from 38 appearances (3,199 mins), and 1 goal in 13 International matches over 2014-15. Just for the sake of comparison, I know they are totally different players.

To me Origi looks similar in style and power to Lukaku. Hopefully he'll end up even better player, lots of respected people in the game (i.e. not called Lewy or Tony) are forecasting Origi's potential to become a top striker. Fingers crossed.

Yes. Despite quotes from Rodgers, Sanchez and Sanchez's wife about the move being out of our hands, people continue to insist he was ours but we simply weren't bold enough. Does my fucking brain in.

Well rumours have persisted that we pretty much had him in the bag and dawdled to allow Arsenal to come in and sign him.
Wenger also said very recently that he was surprised that Arsenal were able to sign Sanchez as he thought that he was signing for Liverpool

Bound to be awful if it's a Rodgers approved signing..

If it isn't I have hope.. I'm clinging onto that..

He is going to be Boss..

Oh right. Sorry no Anti Rodgers agenda allowed on this site..

Silly me

I never said no anti Rodger stuff, but at least you manage to trip yourself up and admit it, so when you continue to ram it down everyone's throats, I've got every right to tell you to change the fucking record.

The post was being a touch sarcastic...

Though it does make me think why some on here seem to think Rodgers is blameless..
We don't think he's blameless, we just don't think it's ALL on him. Subtle difference, it's not black or white or in your case 1 or 0.

Cloggy - in this case 'we' means a few posters and not all posters cos I know you don't like others speaking on your behalf 😉

This ignore a mod function should be introduced shortly to save the site.
It's the same monotonous drivel every fucking day.
