So Newcastle (Premier League)

They beat Citeh the other day in the Capital One Cup by knocking the ball in behind their overlapping FBs. Looks like they're out to do the same today.

I don't get why Rodgers isn't playing two upfront.

Whenever we've switched to it we look instantly better, markedly so.

Is it too much for Gerrard to assume some responsibility and set the tone with quick one touch passing, not hopeful hollywood balls at every turn?

Weve started really poorly, sloppy passes all over the place, not linking well upfront. Newcastle playing with confidence, hopefully that results in a bit more space for Sterling and Coutinho

Hate to wade in and be all pessimistic but we really look like a sack of shit. Awful so far. I'm tempted to turn it off.

No pace anywhere. What's happened? Most of that starting eleven played last season. Five of the front six. Last year they were fizzing with rabies, now they look clueless.

It's ironic that, after waiting for so long for a team with pace, we have a team with pace and (unlike last season) we're not using it.

Haven't read the rest of the thread, but we are slow, ponderous, negative, and static. Johnson seems intent on passing backwards every time, and no one seems to want to run forwards or take a man on. Pathetic football.

What in the name of holy fucking Zeus was that abomination. 10 passes to no-one out the back. First attempt to get to into midfield and Hendo fucks it. This is painful.

...and isn't even arsed to track back. Which is worrying.

Awful from Henderson there. On several occasions the defense has had a more aggressive forward ball on due to a runner, and instead we've plodded our ways sideways.

Your man fell down injured and Lovren still couldn't get the ball off him.

We seem to have taken on the mentality of a lazy boxer, looking for the quick knockout loading up the punches and swinging wildly rather than trying to work the opportunity and unlock the opposing defence.

90 year olds could move the ball quicker than us at present.

We seem to be a team so devoid of any confidence that the entire team is scared to pass quickly, make runs..
