Okay, so he is not an attacking or creative player. Not his fault as you say. However, given that you have just said he would be an 'excellent' back up to Aquilani and then named Aquilani as our creative player then doesn't this make Lucas actually a pretty shit back up to him?

Mmmmm, certainly looks a bit suspect all right but as there is no Lucas there I will give SO the benefit of the doubt. That said his 3 playes chosen would probably only add about £5 to our transfer kitty.

The correct answer is Babel, Dossena and Lucas which would add about £14m to our transfer kitty.

If you bin off the players with one foot out the door (Dossena, Babel, Voronin) as well as those most would like to see the back of (Zorba, Lucas, Degen), it really shows how small our squad is - we'd be left with 16 senior players.

I knew our squad was thin but oddly until I just wrote that out now, I didn't realize quite how thin.

Its a bit pointless selling players who have no value whatsoever.
 
Degen is fine as a back up right back and will raise no money anyway. People are largely judging him on being injured, shall we sell Alberto too?

(I know he's not as good as Aquilani by the way)
 
I wasn't judging him on his injuries, but on the fact that he didn't look much of a player to me on the admittedly few occasions I saw him before he arrived, and (significantly) on the reaction of the Dortmund fans - a mixture of relief and amazement - when we signed him.

That said, his most recent appearances were better than I'd have expected. I'm not yet convinced he's up to the standard we need, and I'd love to be able to sign better, but (not least after Kelly's display last time out) I don't see RB as our top priority.
 
If Degen was fit then he'd be a good backup. He's a decent player. Sadly he's never fit and is totally unreliable, which makes him a bloody awful backup.

If we were selling 3 players in January he'd be one I'd choose alongside 2 others who'd command more money, merely because we'd get him off the wage bill and he'd be no loss at all.
