You would sell Skrtel and keep Lucas!!
Lucas is an average cm. Skrtel is a woeful defender. So naturally..
Skrtel is a good defender and Lucas is beyond woeful, apart from that you are correct.

Lol @ ^^^
Skrtel is useless. He's rash, stupid, all over the place, can't play with our best defender (cos he's too similar *pukes*), cost us points..
Lucas is no where near as offensive as Skrtel. He's a nothing special central midfielder who don't make too many errors. He'd make a very useful cover.
The only valid point you make is that Carra and Skrtel are similar in style and should not play together as first choice. The fact that he played an integral role for the Slovaks as they topped a tough World Cup group ahead of Poland and Czech Republic belies your theory that he's useless.
Lucas is shite, total shite, beyond shite even and if you can't see it then there is little point taking this debate further because IMO your evaluation of players is shite.

Who cares? Diomede won the world cup, remember?
Lucas is a lot less useless for our team than Skrtel is. Skrtel makes at least one mistake a game. His positioning is woeful, he was the reason that we conceded both goals against Man City. It's no coincidence that Carra looks much happier playing next to Agger.

Our defence with Skrtel in it was a whisker away from last season's title, and no-one becomes a bad player over the course of a summer. It would be equally easy to point to mistakes from other players in other games this season - they've all made them, Agger included. I forget who it was who said that the man who doesn't make a mistake can't make anything, but that's essentially Lucas' problem. It takes all he's got to avoid mistakes, and even then he doesn't always manage it.
