His defending has always been pretty good. His passing has always been good as well it's just that lately the players are working for each other much more than they had been and it gives him more options when it comes to passing the ball forward or even sideways. Unlike Skrtel he very rarely looks to pass back to Mignolet and in the past this has gotten him into trouble as he was looking for ANY pass forward and sometimes got caught in possesion due to the players in front of him not giving him an option but now that they are he suddenly looks much more capable in posssesion. It doesn't hurt his reputation either that he's perceived as a nice fella due to his community work. Finally a cult hero who can actually play.
There was nothing wrong with the pass to Gerrard. It was a piece of poor control from Gerrard which was then exacerbated by him slipping. Look at the clip and tell me that was a bad pass or bad control. Apologies for showing this clip as it hurts us all but let's not rewrite history and blame Sakho.

I do myself. I was at the match and didn't watch the footage until about two months ago. I just didn't want to see it because we had come so close but i always thought it a was a bog standard square pass and that Gerrard had let the ball get away from him. After hearing so many people blaming Sakho for a supposedly poor pass i eventually had to watch to find out if my memory was playing tricks or not. This isn't me putting it all on Gerrard as that season had so many turning points which went for and against us but in that incident Gerrard unfortunately was culpable. He's said himslef that he still hasn't recovered from it and i'm not sure i would if i was in his position.
You didn't have to click play did you? I didn't think it was fair that Moron was trying to score cheap points off sakho for something that he wasn't responsible for. I take no pleasur e from it all. Like most of us that season broke my heart in many ways. From thinking we could finally win the fucking thing after so long to losing to Mourinho of all cunts was devastating. I've always been a huge fan of Sakho, even before he joined us, and I feel vindicated now that everyone is finally starting to see his talent. He's been largely good overall since he got here. He's great and I've always said it. So basically this is a "told ya so, fuck y'all."
