I read an article recently suggesting that his influence over that Madrid team was declining so maybe Madrid are looking to cash out. It would still surprise me though and I'd have thought logic dictates that's he will be a very good player even for the next 2 or 3 years. If it's on the players side he recently said he would love it retire a Madrid player, but a clash with Benitez is possible. They are very different characters.
Ronaldo trains harder than anyone and is consummate professional. I'm sure Rafa would appreciate and respect that. How Madrid win might be the stumbling block for Ronaldo but he might be willing to fall in line since they didn't win anything last year. I can see Rafa getting them to a CL final.
They haven't adapted quite as well in terms of succession as barca have, have they? Suarez and Neymar are more than good enough to replace the Messi output (I know ages font quite work out there) . I know he's not been quite up to usual standards so far this season but I don't think Madrid would get near replacing his output.
