Looking at the draw from the other teams’ perspective:

Real Madrid got the toughest possible road to the final – city rivals Atletico, likely Arsenal in the quarters, then probably Liverpool or PSG (with 2nd leg at home for the opponents) in the semis. The cunts would have to really earn it if they want to win it again. In this way you could say the new format worked – they got punished for finishing so low in the standings.

Barcelona pretty much guaranteed to advance to the semi-final and then face one of the German teams (I wouldn’t discount Leverkusen) or Inter.

Arsenal will have a tough time against a solid PSV side with no strikers, then if they win their “reward” is one of the Madrid clubs in the quarters – ugh! It looks positive for us in terms of the title run-in.

So overall our draw doesn’t look too bad – PSG are on form and will be really tough, but if we get through the road to the final looks exciting. 2nd leg at home in the semi-final could be a big advantage. And if we lose to PSG, at least we got eliminated early and we can focus on the league.
