Yup, the way this weekend has played out following the Utd game has us definitely dropping points.

Why Lovren?
Are the reports that Klopp's been unhappy with Gomez's commitment in training true?

I don’t get the negativity. wont be an easy game, so I can see the need for the solid midfield, but that’s a seriously attacking bench to play with in the second half when they’re knackered. No Loris is a big miss against an attack like ours.

I was just going to post that Jon !

Interesting changes. Despite his misgivings over players running down their contracts both Eriksen and Alderweireld start, and that's a good move for them.

However he has brought in Winks which is a more attacking move than keeping Ndombele in the team. All reports say Ndombele played really well midweek and is a better defensive midfielder than Winks will ever be, so it's a positive for us he doesn't start.

Alli instead of Moura is the other big call because again Moura's pace could have been problematic and it's a better match up vs Lovren than Moura would have been (or Son if they had switched sides). Looking forward to Robertson and Mane up against Aurier ! And Mo against the wilting Rose.

They have decent options on the bench for most positions too.

Lovren on. Now I got to rummage through the wardrobe for my witch doctor outfit and accessories, my chickens and goats will not happy.

I heard the Line up... So I put "The weeping song" on the stereo, turned up the volume and went on the forum to read the reactions. Beautiful combination. 😀

I think Lovren playing may have more to do with how pissed off VVD was the last time Gomez played alongside him. I've not seen him that annoyed since he first joined us & had to constantly berate people, & his own game suffered.

I think Gomez is boss, but he's clearly gonna need playing time to get back to his best, & considering we have two matches before a match against City, which may well be astonishingly important in the history of the club, never mind just for this season, I think it's understandable that Klopp wants Lovren up to par & a decent understanding between the two CB's again.
