Which is why we held on to Gomez. I do recall that he and van Dijk were actually a top CB pairing, reeling off some clean sheet stats.

Is this the season where we have more players in the treatment room than available again?

Well it will be nice for Joemez to get a chance at CB. I also hope we see Keita and Elliott with Fabinho in midfield. Elliott looks likeliest to provide a replacement for Henderson, who is declining. Keita will play great then get injured which should mean we sign someone else

Elliott is a good player, but the huge problem with playing him at RCM is the fact he provides very little cover to TAA who seems to need it from Hendo. Especially with Salah hanging up top.

Just have to hope it fucks over others more than us

I believe it will damage other clubs far more than us. We actually don't have many players that are starters for teams who you would expect to go deep into the competition.

Salah, Diaz, Robertson, Ramsey, Milner, Matip, Keita, Kelleher, Tsimikas didn't qualify.

Elliot, Ox, Phillips, Jones, Carvalho, Gomez, Konate, Thiago are unlikely to go.

Trent and Firmino probably won't be starters even if selected.

It's really only Jota, Virgil, Nunez, Hendo, Alli and Fabinho that are first choice.

Does Fabinho start for Brazil? Genuinely no idea but i thought it was your man with the really chubby cheeks that plays for Madrid ahead of him

Rice and Phillips should start ahead of Hendo too. We'll be fine

I think Salah not going is the most important thing. He came back fucked after Afcon last season because that cunt of a manager kept playing 0-0 and aiming for pens with Egypt. Weren't their knockouts something ridiculous like 3x120min within a week?

As should Reece James, Walker or Trippier ahead of Alexander Arnold. In fact, I think he won't make the squad and we shouldn't howl in protest if'n he doesn't (like some did during the Euros.)

So Palace gave Arsenal a good run for their money at home last week. I think the score flattered Arsenal.

Did we learn anything from that game (about CP!)

their fullbacks aren’t great but the centre backs are good

They’re an ok side but one we should be dispatching with ease if we are title challengers. Cobwebs should have been blown away after the first game back and
We’re at home.

Anfield under the lights. This is going to be epic. Palace will leave space for us to play and Diaz will tear Clyne a new one.

Really? I like Mitchell. Young full back that will probably take the step up to a bigger club in the future.
