There is actually a good argument against starting Hendo - Elliott will bring more energy and penetration at the RCM and Milly is better suited to LCM and can provide leadership (in fact he improved our urgency last week compared to when Hendo was playing). There is also this:

When most of us were slating Hendo post Fulham someone on here had him as their MotM, I don't think he was alone either : @moron ?

Ouch, that was some awful reading.

I saw some more passing stats for Hendo on Twitter for both the City and Fulham games and he had by far the worst passing % among the midfielders - couldn’t find it, but it was alarming. At the moment he doesn’t deserve to start based on his level of performance.

Yes - because even if his passing was off, at least I noticed him in that first half, take Thiago, and Fab - who I am sure did not play in that game because they were pretty .. invisible to the point of non existent. So from that one can say - Henderson was the only one trying to hold our shit together.

Yet giving it away at every opportunity.

He improved in 2nd half the other two did not. Besides he cannot play with the two immobile invisible ones next to him, what was he supposed to do ?
Pass better ! And they were way better than he was so you can forget the 'invisible' tag.

Maybe we could play Hendo at CB, Matip at DM, Trent at RM and Fabinho at RB?

They’ve all played in those positions at some point in their career.

It’ll be like we’ve signed 2 new midfielders.

His performance levels dropped off dramatically towards the end of last season. He's picked up where he left off which suggests he may not be a first teamer mitch longer

Klopp says in his presser that Keita is back for this game. Kostas will be training from today so maybe he makes the bench.
Keita can play LCM, so will be interesting to see if Klopp starts Elliott on the right and swaps Hendo left or if he's benched.

After Fulham away I'm tempted to go Keita Fabinho Elliott. Hendo should start on the bench.

Klopp: “Thiago is good, but the injury is not good. I read four to six weeks [for a timeframe]. I would prefer four!”

In the queue for a ticket.

Queue number: 9558.

Waiting time: a century of a lifetime

Fantastic.

He will drop Fabinho and play Jordan deep with Naby lad and Harvey ahead of him.

That's my prediction... Which means it is just about guaranteed to be wrong

had that thought myself, Fabinho isn’t untouchable at the moment and (imo) typically comes back from preseason looking not quite as fit as the rest

I think it’s a toss up as two who was the worse of the two against Fulham. That said, something must have happened in midweek for Henderson to be so desperately poor.
