Yeh I’ve never seen the hysteria about Jones. He’s a decent player and a lovely kid, but not quite the skill level he’s often quoted as having.
He is skilled enough, but just seems to want to score all the time so never really passes when he should. Has to learn that setting up goal is just as important as scoring them

Jesus the whining in here tonight. Clean sheet against Arse over 180 mins. Comfortable win. Our best players unavailable, 17 year old kid starting up front, 2nd choice keeper just for the lols.

That was fucking great. More of that kind of thing.
Was there moaning in here? Glad I stayed away until 90th minute then

I was very distracted watching the game but we deserved to win, stopped them from having chances, and played at least a little bit like the mentality monsters of old.

I think winning this trophy would see us go far in the CL

Jota probably motm with the two goals, but so many good performances tonight. Jones was outstanding, solid at the back and Kelleher was impressive.

Gordon played okay. Worked his socks off and should have scored. Great talent.

This week some people residing in London need the rules concerning Party"s explained when it concerns work and Partey needs the rules concerning his work explained to him.

You had me at. : 'Jesus the whining in here tonight. '

Don't forget Fabs (bar a couple of rash challenges) and Virge (bar the moment Fabs bailed him out). TAA was superb and so was Bobby. Robbo had a really good game holding up Saka.

Thought Milner was rash again when he came on though - just threw himself at people.

I thought our pressing game and defensive structure were the star of the game today. After the torrid first 20 minutes, we basically prevented Arsenal from settling into their patterns of play building from the back, their talented creative players were starved of the ball, didn't know how to change it and wilted. I thought Firmino was excellent as the leader of the high press, he really imposed his will on Arsenal without touching the ball, forcing them to kick it long or pass into the traps on the wings. Gordon was trying very hard to match his senior colleagues and for the most part did OK, I think Klopp will be satisfied with his defensive work. And at the base of the midfield, Fabinho won almost all his duels; this is where Arsenal missed having proper central midfielders – it was at times almost funny how easily Fabs was able to time his interventions and nick the ball, sending us on the counter every time. Firmino, Fabinho and Van Dijk were the leaders, but defensively it was a proper team performance.

With the ball, Trent obviously had a great game to atone for his horrible home performance against Arsenal. Jones doesn't get much love here, but he actually played well, mature and confident in using the ball. Paul Merson on Sky highlighted his selfless run that took away a defender for Jota's first goal. And Jota was unplayable at times and totally destroyed Tomiyasu and White. Overall, lots of positives and I loved seeing the glum-looking Arteta disappearing down the tunnel. Loki thwarted again! Chelsea will be tough because of their world-class midfield; I hope Thiago can finally be fit for a big game and hopefully we'll have Elliott as an option too.

That's Millys role now.

I agree with Klopp though, Martinelli was a threat all game.

Agree with all of this.. Gordon started like a rabbit in the headlights (he wasn't alone tonight.. torrid first 20, but most of the attacks were from the side he was on). Grew into the game as the first half rolled on, easy to forget how young he is.

It was another bad miss around the 50 minute mark, you can't get away from it. The one at the weekend probably in his head still. But he's getting in the right positions to miss.

After that, he retreated into a more defensive role. You could see Trent starting to get frustrated with him ball watching in the last 5 minutes of his time on the pitch.

But a great learning experience for him.

Was Jones really that good? Might need to watch it again…for me he lacks a lot in the cutting edge department and honestly see Elliott as a better talent.

Perhaps we should learn from this – it's hard to get your full concentration a few hours after stepping off the plane and as a result bad things can happen. If Sadio, Mo or Naby fly to Liverpool let's say on a Friday and we have a game early on Saturday, I don't think they should be involved.

For Keita that's probably true, for Salah he's a fucking pro and no waybwould he be distracted by anything
