RAAAAAATTTTTINNNGGGGGGSSSS (as the late Brendan would say...)

8.5 Kelleher - Couple of sloppy balls from the back knock a point off, otherwise almost a faultless display. Great finger tip save from the free kick and another couple of great saves at 1-0

8.5 Robertson - Kept Saka quiet, which is very hard to do.
6 Matip - Not his best performance, rightly subbed at half time
(8 Konate) - The man is a man mountain... thou shall not pass!! Almost scored an unbelievable header too
8 Virgil - One of his best performances for a while, Lacazette was feeding off scraps
9 Trent - 2 assists, a menace going forward, Martinelli had him on toast early on, and was a constant danger throughout, however it was 50/50 after the first goal.

8.5 Fabinho - What a player, that saving tackle was sublime.
8 Henderson - See Virgil above, filled in for Trent when he meandered forward.
8 Jones - I didn't get all the hate for him last night, until their 18 yard box, he didn't put a foot wrong all game. Some of the misplaced passes were frustrating, but that comes with 'match fitness'. Was giving Arsenal all kind of fits with his energy and creativity outside the box.

6.5 Gordon - First 15 was a struggle, the final 10 were also a struggle after his miss. Sandwiched in between was a solid performance, one where he'll watch the tape back and be proud of and learn from.
(7 Minamino) - I thought he played well when he came on was every bit as dangerous as Curtis outside the box
9.5 Jota - 2 shots, 2 goals the second was outstanding - I'm not convinced the first was a mis-hit. constant threat. MOTM
8 Firmino
- a delicious flick for the first goal build up, and always wanted the ball. Fun Bobby at his best.

Other subs
6 Milner
6 Williams

RIP brendan

Was Jones really that good? Might need to watch it again…for me he lacks a lot in the cutting edge department and honestly see Elliott as a better talent.

He is a good very good player which is why he can be sofrustrating

To me It is like he is so desperate to prove himself that he will try to take on the whole back line and score when he could simple lay the ball off to a team mate and create a scoring opportunity for the team.

In that respect he needs to learn from Frimino

Idk I just don't see it, I mean he's nippy on the ball and clearly has some skill but he has zero cutting edge.

But I guess if he's played that good he'll be keeping his place in the team this weekend & benching Naby when he's back.

Some people moan about Jones because he's got a face they want to punch. Not necessarily a bad thing. Two more yellow cards against him last night, people do really want to foul him. Makes me think he jogs past them telling them he's fucked their sister.

Lots to like about this goal. From Trent drifting into the #10 role during build-up, Firmino's no-look back-heel to find him, Jota's nutmeg, Curtis's run beyond him to take White away. Finish was lucky, but the rest was not.

I'm not even sure the finish was 'lucky'. I've heard mishit mentioned many times - but I'd say 'underhit' rather than mishit. From behind him you can see that is clearly where he wanted to put it, he just didn't get hold of it.

Question is, will Klopp let Kelleher stand in goal in the final over Alisson?
That's an interesting call Klopp has to make. He clearly said that this competition is Kelleher's. Can he now go back on that ? I don't think he will or should. Kell deserves his final.

I think you're all right. Klopp is going to let Kelleher start in the final. He's not a kid any more.

Agree about kelleher, hope Klopp decides to play him.
I did initially think about it, as it may go to pens ….but kelleher is pretty cool in those moments …

There's way too much positivity in here.

OK we won, but have you all missed that fact that for the 374th time this season we failed to score against 10 men. Fucking losers the lot of them!!!
In that case Klopp should tell the team not to get any Chelsea players sent off. If them foul and of us just jump right back up

It was far better having him there than Milner, Fabinho and Henderson.

On a related note, having Gordon in the team was no worse than having Mané— missed a sitter, yes, but far less brainless loss of possession. These players will get better with more playing time, not less.

Remember when we only got 16000 tickets to the CL final in 2019 and then it turned out about 10000 of them were swallowed up by corporate and ex shareholders so only 6000 went to regular season ticket holders, but nearly the entire stadiums in Kiev and Madrid ended up red somehow, well that's how it works now. You buy them off sponsors or their intermediaries. At least in these shitty cups we get a few more tickets.
