The devil is in the details. Becker was a July signing (and off course less tactical adjustment required for a keeper - especially considering his competition), Salah end of May, Mane end of June so all had pretty much full pre-seasons. Keita is clearly taking a lot longer to adjust than anticipated but he too had a full pre-season.
Origi has been involved in 28 games for us this season so one would assume he understands Klopp's requirements by now even if that was his first PL home start.
I absolutely agree we should have brought in a replacement for Sturridge and Solanke last Summer, though we were unlucky with Brewster's injury as clearly he had been promised game time. But we are talking about January and I can understand the arguments against buying another forward then - though I remain ambivalent.

I'm not entirely sure Shaq & Keita not playing is all about them.
I think Klopp has taken the attitude over the Utd & Everton games that they could hurt us & a loss would be potentially catastrophic, so 'played it safe'.
I think not picking either of them or even using it as subs says more about his mindset currently.
His post match comments about it not being time to risk going all out attack back it up too. I hope he has a time in mind to do just that & that time is now.
It's a high stakes gamble, & I don't agree in the slightest, as on paper, makes perfect sense, but the way those games went it was clear taking a gamble & attacking could easily have gotten the points.
Which leads on to a side discussion (probably for another time) about one of Klopp's biggest issues for me, in that he/we under him, find it very difficult to switch styles & change pace once we start a match in a particular manner.

That's partly it, but let's be clear: if either Keita or Shaqiri was tearing it up in training, and then doing the same on the pitch, they'd be playing.
Three points from winning just one of those two games would still have been an improvement ... though I think it highly likely we would have won both had we really gone for them. I hope we don't look back on them with regret for what might have been.
We would be a point better off if we'd risked it and won one and lost one rather than drawn two.
Still be second though...
