Post Match - Everton (A)

Squad has everything to do with it when Firmino gets injured or isn't playing well and we can't bring on a similar level of quality.

When Aguero was injured. Jesus stepped up and scored crucial goals both this season and last.

Sane is out of form. Who steps up and scores yesterday? Mahrez.

Mahrez and Sane shite against West Ham. What does Pep do? Subs them off on 50mins for Silva and Sterling. Silva wins the crucial penalty.

We on the other hand had Mane and Salah not on form today, and who did we bring on? Adam 'spinning around' Lallana.

Against United? Daniel 'barely breaks a sweat' Sturridge came on.

We didn't fuck up. We've simply run out of gas/ideas in games without the same quality coming on to change it.
Ignore me Ibro, im just sulking.
Bob sorted me right out.

For all the people criticizing Lallana today, he did all he could in the 7-8 minutes he was on the pitch. Won a free-kick immediately with a strong run, almost found Salah in space, kept finding spaces, but the teammates’ passes to him were inaccurate. I understand you’re all frustrated and Lallana happens to be a convenient scapegoat, but it was a right sub from Klopp, it gave us some different ideas and ways to attack at a time we’ve completely run out of ideas.

I think that's it done now unfortunately for anther. City are sweeping all aside and grinding results out, we a really struggling and our form has gone to shit this year. I think there's far more chance of us dropping points over the next game than city, regardless of opposition. It's a shame, we've come so close again. Will hope for a miracle now, but I'm not expecting it to happen at all.
Klopp needs to work some magic in the summer transfer window for next season. Need a CB as Gomez can't be trusted. We desperately need a no.10 and maybe another midfielder, Fabinho is the only one of them I'd keep for the starting midfield 3. And obviously some sort of striker.

Yes he is Farky, but let's not act like he's had both arms cut off. There are options there that he doesn't want to use. For all of my support for Lallana over the years, it's not easy to sympathise with Klopp over today when Keita and Shaqiri stayed on the bench, while the side out there looked bereft of invention.

He doesn't trust either one of them defensively, and rightfully so. But I don't disagree.

Is right, hes the new Teddy Sheringham.

This talk of the title race being over is fucking laughable.

It's not over on paper. But City are huge favourites. It's very unlikely we'll win it when you rationally take all factors into consideration rather than blindly hoping.

Awesome : VvD

Good : Fabs and Becker

Average : Firmino, Lallana, Origi

Crap : Mane, Matip (missing TWO fucking gilt edged headers FFS), Hendo, Robbo

Utter shite : Salah, Milner, Gini, TAA, Klopp.

Shockingly I believe the pressure and weight of history has got to Klopp and he has bottled it, not the players. As we start to falter he's tried to play it safer and safer, don't concede and just pray for a goal. Had we been really attacking teams over the last 10 games we'd have more points for sure.

Lallana a scapegoat? He played about 10 minutes, only a complete cunt would blame that insipid display and awful result on him. He's not very good, but we don't have the resources of the Arabs, who have 200m on the bench.

And let's not forget that Milner and Firmino came on earlier and were worse. Nobody who started the game played well, apart from Virgil and maybe Allison. Wijnaldum was fucking dismal, and Neither Salah nor Mane could fucking kick a ball straight

I cant buy all this its a shame Citys squad is so big stuff.
We drew 4 of our last 6 games. We are well rested with TWO relaxing training camps and 20+ days with no games. Its not Citys squad that is costing us in these games.
We are playing shit.

You have to think this form is terminal to our season.
We cant win games. Thats pretty much that.

I don't think he did anything wrong. Just not much at all.

The game was end to end, and we need players to come on who were quick in transition.

Not someone who slows up play with extra touches. If anything, I think that sub was an admission by Klopp that a point today was acceptable.

And to be fair to Jurgen, he's won titles before. We have to trust that he knows what a "good" point away is. They all add up and the end of the season, we may look back at these 2 away games and say "you know what, we needed those points because it didn't kill our belief, had we gone for the win and lost".

The question now is, can we stay close enough to City and use our own crowd to create "world cup final" atmospheres when we play Spurs and Chelsea at home. Close enough so when City have their last tough run of games (Palace (A), Spurs (H), United (A), Burnley (A) all in the space of 2 weeks and around the CL quarter final/semi final legs) they can't afford to drop points.

That’s Lallana’s reputation, but he DIDN’T slow anything down today. Obviously he didn’t win the game for us, it’s not like I’m in awe of his performance, but I don’t think anyone on that bench would have done better.

I thought it was one of Fabinho's worst performances so far, but he gets a reprieve because he's largely been excellent, today I thought he was sloppy as fuck with his passing. There were good moments too but I don't think anyone bar VVD did themselves any justice. It was like a repeat of the uninspired dross we served up at Old Trafford last week.

Well I would have preferred Naby and/or Shaqiri to come on. But heh, it's hindsight. I doubt we would have won today with Salah missing 1 v 1s.

Yeah but it's not just about fitness/freshness, players dip in and out of form and that's when you use your squad and it's where City do have the upperhand. You're right though, we are playing shite and Klopp had creative players to call on if he really wanted to, we're just out of form (bar the Watford game) at exactly the wrong time. That said, there have been times throughout the season where we've got points while playing crap. I don't think it's just down to a more reserved approach, given today and last week we could barely string a couple of passes together.

He was very average indeed, yeah.

This is when we needed one or two quality attacking players in reserve. But Keita has been a letdown and Shaqiri seems to be entirely out of favour. And we are actually starting games with Origi in the first XI.

That's why we aren't winning the title.

Still more twists and turns in this run in. City have to go to palace, united and have spurs. They will drop points I'm sure of, especially if they're in CL 1/4 and 1/2 finals.

Yes it's shit awnd it feels likelwe have blown it. We could have been 10 and then 7pts clear not so long ago. It wasn't that much longer before that city were 5 ahead and like +15 goals in front. It changes quickly. I'm sure it'll change again.

What's the stats with Henderson starting and us being shit this year. He seems to have started in every game we've been shite

I knew it would be 0-0 from the first Everton goal kick. Time wasting midget arms.

50p head needs fucking off for going up for corners.

And Salah has lost his first choice. That easily could’ve been 3-0.

And we always were going to have a dip at one point in the season. We're not losing matches during this period, just not winning.
