Spain just scored another, Keko. The Spaniards are on a different level.

Bostock just scored for England.

He should be on the field or on our bench in every game this season. Let that lad get stuck in.

Hopefully Hodgson will give him game time. He's clearly a big talent who we need to keep hold of. I'd hate to see him go back to Spain to become a full international in a couple of years.

Real Sociedad have confirmed their interest in Liverpool starlet Dani Pacheco.

Dani Pacheco is part of Spain's UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship squad

Pacheco, 19, joined Liverpool from Barcelona in 2007 and is considered one of the most promising players at the club, and it appears Roy Hodgson is willing to allow him to head out on loan to gain further first-team experience.

Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay has now said he is looking to take the player to Estadio Anoeta, although with several clubs reported to be interested he knows it may prove difficult.

"Certainly Real Socieded are interested in Pacheco," he told El Mundo Deportivo. "He is a player we have followed, but we do not know if we can realise this operation."

Would Wenger be sending him on loan if he had him? It would be extraordinarily stupid to send him away. If he goes we'll never see him again.

Maybe the way Pacheco is integrated (or not) into the first team squad this season is the first test of the "special relationship" between Roy and Kenny. I'd imagine Dalglish would be pushing for his inclusion sooner rather than later.

Liverpool face battle to keep Spain U-19 star Daniel Pacheco as striker mulls Real Sociedad approach

'Of course, playing for Real (Sociedad) appeals to me, without doubt,' he told El Mundo Deportivo. 'I have heard good things about the club, the city and the people, and if things move in that direction, I will be happy to play there.'

'He (Xabi) has been helping and advising me,' said Pacheco. 'I've been told good things about the coach. They say he bets on youngsters who have character, who like to play.

'I've been told about Zubieta (the training ground), the way they work and the humilty of the club. Everything I hear is good.'

'I don't know much about the negotiations,' he said. 'I'd like to play in La Liga. Above all I want game time or to fight for game time.

'In Liverpool I won't get this opportunity and I would love to have it. Right now the club are signing people and I don't think I will have opportunities. At 19 years old the most important thing is to continue progressing.'

Says in the Echo that he won't leave.

From the Post yesterday
REAL SOCIEDAD are ready to launch a bid to take Dani Pacheco back to Spain – as Emiliano Insua’s move to Fiorentina hit a major stumbling block.

Pacheco has shot to prominence while starring for his country in the ongoing UEFA Under-19 European Championships in France. The 19-year-old netted his fourth goal of the tournament yesterday in helping Spain defeat England 3-1 in their semi-final clash.

Pacheco was signed by Liverpool from Barcelona in 2007 before breaking into the first team last season, going on to make seven appearances during an encouraging debut campaign.
However, the departure of Rafael Benitez has put the future of a number of players in doubt – particularly those brought over from Spain – with Sociedad now looking to take advantage of any uncertainty.

“Certainly Real Socieded are interested in Pacheco,” said Jokin Aperribay, the club’s chairman. “He is a player we have followed, but we do not know if we can realise this operation.”

From the Echo today;

The club, meanwhile, are not looking to offload Maxi Rodriguez or allow Spanish striker Dani Pacheco leave on loan.

if we loan dani just so he gets experience and we use him next season then im up for that 🙂 but NOT to sell him, he will be a star in the future. As for maxi im not fussed, if we sell him and replace him with someone like Elia or Ayew

We have few creative players and not many prospects coming through. It would be moronic to lose him on loan for a season. Give him a chance here and late him learn off Joe Cole.

Oh and fuck Babel off, too.

Why is Xabi even advising Dani!

Sending him out on loan will be a mistake. Keep him involved in the squad and give him some game time. Pacheco has the ability to make the step up. Roy needs to show some confidence in the lad.

He's what... 19... and he got some time on the pitch at the end of last season.

We need to either play him and give him a chance or let him go... simpe as.

We got rid of Benayoun and we should get rid of Babel.

We could do a lot worse than giving Pacheco a run in the team to see if he's really got the goods.

In fairness, he would have played more games for Liverpool last season had he not been playing so many internationls that clashed with our games.

Granted... still... we should play him or let him go... there's no point in sending him out on loan now.

As has been said above ... he should be on our bench and getting starts (CC & FA, EL - starting in the return leg against Roboteam). How long does he have left on his contract ? He should get a new one pronto.

Dani Pacheco has reacted positively to advances from Real Sociedad. The forward signed from Barcelona in 2007 has interested a host of La Liga clubs following his performances with Spain in the European Under-19 Championships. Clearly eager for first team football over the coming season Pacheco is open to opportunities having taken advice from a ex-Sociedad man Xabi Alonso. "Of course, playing for Real [Sociedad] appeals to me without doubt," he said. "I have heard good things about the club, the city and the people, and if things move in that direction, I will be happy to play there.

"I'd like to play in La Liga. Above all I want game time or to fight for game time. "In Liverpool I won't get this opportunity and I would love to have it. Pacheco added: "He [Xabi Alonso] has been helping and advising me. "I've been told good things about the coach. They say he bets on youngsters who have character, who like to play. "I've been told about Zubieta [Sociedad's training complex], the way they work and the humility of the club. "Everything I hear is good.

If he goes out on loan then that'll be it ... we won't see him in Liverpool colours again. And that would be tragic.

Hmmmm. Perhaps because they're friends? And perhaps because he used to play for Sociedad?
