babel is better served moving on to rescue his career. he is capable of doing this as he is still quite young.
Aren't we all really hoping for that? At least we'd recoup some of the transfer fee paid for him.
so much for roy's promise he would give babel a decent run. fucking wanker.
What? He's been shit when he has played, as per. Didn't he play for the reserves or something aswell and play shit?
I think babel has started three games this season (it's now november) and scored in one of those games.
I can't even be bothered to attempt to defend babel, I will just say roy shouldn't have said he was going to give babel a good go. he's full of fucking shit.
What's to say he didn't? He's hung on to him, had a good look at him in training, and, like the previous manager, most likely decided he's a thick, lazy, waste of space.

Babel was given an opportunity - he's failed to take it. The story of his career really.

I said starts, not 5 minute appearances to see out time.
Ahh that lists off LFCHistory.com, it really would be greatly improved if it listed sub apperances in brackets.

I couldn't care less about Babel but he has never been given a run.

Neither Rafa or Roy has confidence in him and that's down to his application.

yeah yeah much like babel, to save someone the trouble of saying it.
It's not like he hasn't given others a go Neil. He's played the kids in the Euro games and they've largely faired quite well so him saying he'll give Babel a go would arguably be interpreted that he'd have a look at him (in training mostly I guess) and see where or if he fits. If he's been willing to give others a go then there surely must be a reason why he's not showing the same level of faith in Babel. And by giving youngsters a go it's at least indicative that he's not scared to give players a go and to see how they progress.

It's not that simple to give him 10 games on the bounce and see how he does. He scored in that one game but has done poorly in others, which is more or less the story of his Liverpool career. First Rafa and now Roy, there must be some issue there, either he's just not good enough or it's his application/attitude or whatever.

Hardly enough to justify calling Roy a wanker just because Babel is a player you like.

Yeah, it's Hodgson's fault why Babel is shit, lazy and doesn't impress.

Some of the stuff I read on here makes my eyes bleed.

roy said he would give babel a run and didn't, that is pretty much all I am saying. if babel goes elsewhere and someone else is able to make the best of his talents what will that say about our ability to bring through players. no wide player has made a break throw in the better part of two decades (macca aside) there comes a time when I think the cause of this goes beyond the players. our system pretty much grinds wide players into the fucking ground and even players that show initial promise are sucked into wide midfield graveyard.

I wonder if ronaldo or bale would have ended up been half as potent if they came here rather than where they eventually ended up. and before anyone brings up the likes of torres and owen they are strikers I'm talking about wide players who come in and dominated games.

I always want to long debate about this but it always side side tracked. the exact same thing will happen to patcheco, he'll get played wide midfield and then struggle.

Yeah , Roy is a wanker for a lot of other reasons but for not playing Babel is not one.

fucking groundhog day

1) promising youngster comes in.
2) shows early promise.
3) not given enough games manager choosing instead to go with 'experience'.
4) 'experience' does a job and no more.
5) youngster is given minutes here and there, usually snatching at chances because they have no idea when their next chance will present itself.
6) youngster loses his way due to lack of confidence.
7) youngser moved on.

rinse and repeat

and then we have the fucking audacity to drool over players at other clubs that have matured in first team because their manager has the balls to play them when they are learning their trade warts and all.
do you think liverpool would have stuck with bale like spurs did despite his torrid start where spurs lost every single game he started?
I'm not even talking about babel now, I'm talking about our methods that stretch back 20 fucking years.

i think it's probably fair to say that if hodgson isn't prepared to give an accomplished lad like kelly a chance when there's an obvious opening for him then a mercurial, lightweight, talent like pacheco has got no fucking chance.

i really really want him gone.

it's all about having the courage to have someone the pitch who isn't the finished article who can grow and improve in the first team although physically and mentality they aren't there yet.
I'm of the opinion the first team should have an average age of around 25 and be a mix of players that are experienced (usually in the defensive positions) and talented young players, if you continually go with experience when the average age of the team continues to rise and talented youngers get scared away because they can see they wont be given a chance at liverpool.

example; shevley v poulsen
emerging talent v a player who is experienced who can do a job.
