Whilst my self-imposed Ryan like ban means I can't 'like' this post, I like this post.

It was a very good post, and I agree with everything related to Oxlade. Suarez had 111 goals in 159 games for Ajax though, and Mane had 25 in 75 for Soton.
Other than that, it was very good. A

Didn't realise Suarez's record was that good, apologies.

I'll swop him out then and replace him with the Aston Villa Dwight Yorke before he went to Utd and scored 20 a season.

I've gone through various stages in this transfer. I was disinterested to begin with. I felt it was a bit of a luxury signing for us and I was happy to hear that he was destined for Chelsea. Yeah good player but it had the hallmarks of a Chelsea signing (expensive player to rotate with their wing backs). I suppose that's why he turned them down. He's here now so I'm happy to get behind him. Ryan's post and the enthusiasm of a few others have me coming round a little. I was totally nonplussed about his arrival. I like him but I wouldn't be jumping up and down with excitement that we got him but I do think he'll do well for us in a few different positions. I'm a sucker for pacey and powerful playing.

Positives?
  • Pace
  • Power
  • Took a pay cut to be here
  • Gerrard is his idol
  • Plenty of experience for a relatively young age
  • He looks like a TMNT
Negatives?
  • Expensive for a lad with one year left on his contract
  • Suspect Injury record
  • He looks like a TMNT

Look on the brightside its a new English player for Modo to hate.
Look on the darkside of the brightside, it's a new not Danish player, that I could've otherwise loved unconditionally..

No one cares about how feel this window.. yeah, we are buying all sorts of awesome ballers from countries all around the world but not even a single player from lil' Denmark in the mix!?

*hides face and sobs quietly into old Agger-shirt*

Ok I'm in on this one. I wanted to sign him from Southampton originally. Still think the fee and wages are nuts - but given that we're not paying the wages he was offered at either of the other clubs, it's more palatable.

BREAKING DONE DEAL - OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN JOINS LIVERPOOL
Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Arsenal and England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Reds have paid £35m for the 24-year-old.

I have to say I've been hoping for this for months. The lad was injury-prone, but was very consistent last season, both in fitness and performance. He is two-footed, brave, fast, skillful and he knows where the goal is. In this present market he is a snip (especially given the English premium).

It's a massive statement that he was prepared to pass up the money from Arsenal and Chelsea to play for his boyhood club

He has wonderful strength and aggression - all in all, there's not a lot not to like.

I see him developing along the same lines as Dirk (and that's high praise).

I'd be willing to bet the wages figure rumoured is his normal wages and image rights bring it up into the same territory as other offers.
