I agree, and seeing him last night for England reinforced my initial view that he's not very good, not £35 million good despite the fee inflation. He seems to lack concentration and, dare i say it, a brain to alloy to those physical attributes of pace and power. He has really stagnated at Arsenal. Klopp will have to earn his corn on this one to bring him up to speed. But, then I guess, he's seen something that can significantly be improved.

Lallana looked pretty poor for England before Klopp worked with him. First, Klopp improved his fitness (remember how often Lallana didn't last the full 90 minutes before that?), then he and the other coaches made him be more positionally aware, more focussed in terms of anticipating space and movement, and more incisive in terms of his attacking play (and stronger and more precise in terms of his shooting). He's a much better player now. Chamberlain has plenty to improve, and I'm pretty confident that he WILL improve. Wenger seemed to stop coaching players years ago. Klopp and Co will really work with this player. And he already adds pace and a bit of strength to the side. It's a good signing.

Except hs body obviously can't handle the physical demands. He's out for 4 months.

Can't judge Ox on that England performance, you could argue that if players were judged exclusively on their performances for England over the years, nobody would sign any English players, ever 🙂 Gerrard and Lampard would probably be playing in 2nd division.

So? Mahrez worries me far more. He'd improve them instantly

He's great Woland, but he fits them perfectly in terms of style and that he's also capable of going missing when the chips are down, like a shitload of their other players. They'll still have no spine and they'll still fold at some point, like they do every season. I'd rather he went there than to any other of the top teams.

Nice summary, Macca. I agree.

Cannot read too much into internationals. I think the hope is for all of us and the player included - Klopp runs his magic over him and improves him. Also despite not rating his consistency - I will admit that when Arsenal use to bring him on - I expected him more than any other player to have an impact on the game. I think the example that springs to mind most is last season when he scored that goal against us in the Emirates - there will be moments like that from him which will greatly benefit us.

At least his failure won't come about through apathy and lack of application. He'll be getting far more time than other players thanks to the way he handled the transfer, something in the order of three games, maybe four.

Whenever you stray away from your beloved Mancs as a topic of conversation, I can't help noticing the quality of the content falls dramatically.

I could say the same of you when you stray from humor driven posts.

Lallana is crocked for a large part of the season for the 2nd time in 3 years. His body can't cope with the physical demand we put on him

I do, I must admit, find you a skull-shakingly stupid twit with bizarre manc obsessions, but so long as you ignore me I'll happily ignore you. And as this thread shows, your opinions are, as usual, in the minority.

Shots fired from dreamy!

The training from dreamy's army has made him a trigger happy maniac.

£35m is still crazy money for this guy.

I don't expect him to feature in our starting eleven much , I guess he has a better shout to play in the middle whilst lallana is out and coutinho is whatever but yeah surely this £35m could've sealed one of VVD in addition to whatever was originally mooted.

Likewise you have always had a bizarre mentally debilitating issue with anyone who disagree with you or calls you out anything especially your sense of humor.

You've had a fair few melt downs and sulks over the years and as I've always said I find it baffling that anyone would continue to debate with someone if they truly thought they are that stupid. Why bother, just leave it alone if think the person is incapable of understanding.

More than happy for you to never reply to another post I make.

In fact It's probably best for your own state of mind as you always take things more personally than most.

What's with the change of heart?

"He's injury prone, stupid and a gooner, so no thanks."

No great change of heart at all. I hate Arsenal and have zero time for any of their players. He wasn't on my list of wants, but he's here now and I think he'll be improved.

Now I guess I should have a search for your comments on certain topics, but I have a life.

I just looked at the most recent Oxlade-Chamberlain thread, which was a couple of months ago, to gauge sentiment about this signing before it was actually happening.

It's probably time to nail this tiresome canard, unless your idea of 'a fair few' is radically different from most people's. And I repeat - ignore me and I'm happy to ignore you. But it's a two way thing, and your comment seems to suggest you'll happily carry on responding to me with your witless remarks. So ignore me and I'll ignore you. I won't say it again. (And mods, maybe you should note that.)

I'm still happy with this signing. At the very least it makes Arsenal worse. That Lacazette nobhead must be wondering what he signed up for. I' concerned about his injury record, not his skill set, Klopp will get the best out of him. And what an ace message that the country's best young players want to leave Arse to come here.

Macca (who I still believe is Gary Macca) is arguably the poster who gives the most insightful posts about our club on here. Pretty nuts to suggest he is out of his depth when not posting jokes!
