There was some reports about, there were reports about Bale too.

He gets called a cheat, because he is one. We knew that before he arrived. He doesn't get penalties because he's a cheat too.

It's got nothing to do with him being Foreign, but if you want to push the xenophobia thing and ignore the obvious by all means go ahead and do so. I mean people still claim he didnt say anything to Evra.

Bollocks. Not even a comparable level of 'reporting'

And don't get me wrong on this - Suarez should have kept his mouth shut on this. All he's done has given those who've been waiting for the next Luis Suarez incident ammunition.

I think that's all that needs to be said really. Everyone already knows where everyone else stands with regards to Suarez - he just needs to keep this shit on the pitch and stop shooting his mouth off.

Ross, no one claims Suarez said nothing to Evra. Everyone knows he said something. It's just one side think what he said wasn't racist, the other side thinks it was. The FA said it wasn't and have since said they will educate foreign players in what is or isn't acceptable in this country. Yes, Suarez is a cheat but has gotten more flak and hasn't been getting decisions since the Evra affair. Do I like the fact he's a cheat? No. Would I get rid of him because of it? No.

If I thought Suarez had any brains then I'd assume he wanted to stir the shit to make his position less tenable. But I reckon he's just a massive fucking dickhead like the rest of them.

And why? Because Neville is English and Suarez is foreign?

Or because Neville has a long, successful and yet largely unremarkable career where all he's ever appeared to be was a decent honest pro. And Suarez has a shorter career with a number of high profile controversial incidents.

The two players aren't really comparable, so to suggest the only reason the coverage differs is Xenophobia is incorrect for me. And I think the above is so obvious that it shouldn't need explaining

Phil Neville admitted diving in The Derby. Where was the outrage then?
He also showed cat-like reflexes to deny Lucas a debut goal in a Merseyside Derby, but he was hero in his club for taking one for the team. We at Liverpool prefer to call our players cheating cunts.

Ok - compare him to Gerrard. Dives? Yup. Controversial off field incidents? Yup. We can use John Terry if you want too -

Yeah John Terry was hardly ever mentioned in the media when he was bagging Wayne Bridges missus.

Really?

And I've seen Suarez dive more than Gerrard over the course of both of their respective Liverpool careers

Fine if it is Ross but as Liam has alluded to at least make it balanced and fair and highlight, to the same degree of moral fury, all the other 'cheats'. Which is pretty much every player. Diving is cheating. Pulling a shirt is cheating. Handballing and not admitting it is cheating. Scoring an offside goal that is not given is cheating. Every single foul is cheating that's been caught. Obviously there's degrees of cheating but there's plenty of players who do the same as Suarez yet where's all the wailing?

This. This. This. Nobody's EVER claimed Luis Suarez is a boy scout. The lie - because that's what it is - is to say that he's worse than anyone else.

I don't think it's xenophobia Ross, let's not get hysterical now. I do think there's a element of "British don't cheat" in the press, yes. Suarez has dived ONCE this season from my memory, much less than some other offenders yet still the pantomime villain. A prime example being the vilification of Suarez for an accidental handball - up until a few with some common sense said what nonsense that was.

Suarez was a cheat and a biter before he came to England. Were the press on a moral crusade against him before he joined us? No, no they weren't.

What? He's worse than the vast majority of other players.

The only prob I've got is that he's in the Bale / Young category and they get less shit off the press. But then again I'm not that arsed because I only really hear that second hand on here.

Oh god.

So it's because he plays for Liverpool that it gets mentioned ?

I agree with that apart from I do think he's actually made an effort this season to clean up his act apart from the ridiculous dive against Stoke. What other incidents this season can you think of. Regardless of that, do you also here fans of Spurs and Man U shouting to get rid of Bale and Young ? Like you say, in the absence of any other exceptional talents that thought is stupid

He has been much less of a cheat this year, he's in credit on that front having been fouled more than he's won... but that mental one against Stoke gave the cunts everything they needed at the time, and this interview is just picking at a scab.

Terry's spat with racism was barely in the media until the court case - the English media defended their passionate, loyal captain.

As for the 'sex' stuff, no one gets spared that (Giggsy etc). It's what sells, and our society LOVES a good love triangle.

Irrelevant of who dives more Ross - Gerrard has won numerous penalties (including in Istanbul) - as have other English players (Johnson, Young etc) - by cheating. The media rarely talks about it the way they talk about Suarez ("Suarez Cheats" etc). I'm honestly surprised you're so eager to defend the fact the press love to over sensationalize Suarez stories ... It sells, and that's why they do it (who cares about Gareth Zoolander).

Exactly. So one, just one instance which he was rightly booked for and something he's admitted was wrong - so why all the hoo-ha ?

I think you need to so some research Wiz, you might not remember it but Terry got plenty of headlines initially . And some sections of the media did condemn him. The difference was things cooled off because the trial was put back to the summer.
