Metro reporting we're in for him with a 6m bid.

Great if true.

1. I don't believe for a second that we've made a bid and he's surely worth more than £6 million.

2. If we were in for him I'm sure it would be in conjunction with Suarez moving to them, so it only makes sense to offer a low bid with the eye towards making him part of the deal (we'll take him as part exchange, but he's only worth £6 million so you're still going to have to cough up another £45 million as well).

3. I don't believe for a second that we've made a bid.

Didn't Brendan says that the next signings we make will be to strengthen our starting line up?
So this Morata business is certainly bullcrap.

Real gone kid: Morata could be on his way to Liverpool (Picture: Getty)

Liverpool are continuing their busy summer transfer window with a raid for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata. So could boss Brendan Rodgers be closing on the Kop’s new Fernando Torres or is the 20-year-old more likely to be a Fabio Borini-like flop? Read on…
What should Reds fans expect?
Morata is a good old-fashioned target man – at 6ft 2in he’s fond of an aerial duel, is adept at holding the ball up and bringing others into play and, crucially, possesses a killer instinct when through on goal. Think Fernando Morientes Mk II – but Kopites will hope he’s more successful at Anfield than the latter.

So why are Madrid getting rid?
New Bernabeu boss Carlo Ancelotti obviously has an embarrassment of attacking riches at his disposal, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Angel Di Maria and Gonzalo Higuain among the world-class competition Morata will need to dislodge to see more game time. Rodgers is reportedly ready to part with £6million for his services – not bad for a player that is still relatively inexperienced in the Spanish top flight and totally untested in the Premier League.

What were his highlights at the Bernabeu?
Morata yo-yoed back and forth between Madrid’s B team and Jose Mourinho’s first-team squad last season, making 12 appearances in all under the Special One in the Primera Liga. He netted the winner off the bench at Levante in November and scored the opener in a home win over Rayo Vallecano in February. More impressive perhaps was his 90-minute performance in March’s El Clasico win over Barcelona – a match in which he provided the assists for Benzema’s opener.

International pedigree?
The answer is an emphatic ‘Yes’. The former Atletico and Getafe man scored four times at the European Under-21 Championship in Israel this summer to win the Golden Boot and help Spain win the tournament.

Is he likely to entertain Liverpool’s advances?
After his starring role at the Under-21 Euros, Morata claimed that Real president Florentino Perez had asked him to stay at the club. But Ancelotti has been unable to give the player assurances he wants about the coming season. The arrival of compatriots Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas at Anfield could also help persuade Morata Merseyside is the right destination for him.

Well, if he's like Morientes he can go and shite. Nice guy and all that but I always thought he was slow and lazy for us.

Never heard of him till now, but judging by youtube clips the guy is very pacey and can dribble. If Suarez is to gi I would rather the money be put towards Jackson Martinez - but who knows this kid could be 'Da Bomb'!

Morata? I don't think he's very pacey.

He's tall and 'got a good touch for a big man'.

Never heard of him till now, !
Morientes was a Spanish striker at Real who came to Liverpool in a January transfer window towards the end of his career, and failed to set the world alight, despite his obvious talents.
No charge for the history lesson 😉

I don't think it was laziness so much with Morientes, more a matter of English football being too rough and tough for him. Basically he was a bit of a wuss.

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has turned down a move to Sevilla reports Marca.

The Andalusians, who are seeking a replacement for Manchester City-bound Alvaro Negredo, are understood to have offered around €10m for the 20-year-old with Madrid retaining the option to repurchase.

However, the 20-year-old, who starred in the recent Under-20 World Cup in Israel, has decided to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu to try and convince new boss Carlo Ancelotti he is worth a regular place in his team.

It is reported that Morata would have penned a five-year contract at the Sanchez Pizjuan, with Madrid allowed to buy him back in the first two years – €11.5m after the first season and €13m after the second.

Sevilla’s first choice for the No 9 jersey is Paris Saint-Germain’s Kevin Gameiro, who has admitted he is in talks with Los Nervionenses, but the Ligue 1 club are thought to have raised the asking price for the French international after becoming aware that Sevilla have banked cash from the transfers of Negredo and Jesus Navas.
