The Italian stallion

Is there any connection here with the Tom Grace who played rugby on the wing for Ireland and the Lions yonks ago?
I don't think so JJ
Pat Grace of fried chicken fame sponsored the Irish football league for a while, not something I would imagine rugby Tom doing.

My brother-in-law has a taverna and goes to makro the odd time for the non-food and drink related stuff now and then. There was a period when my mother-in-law kept on asking him to pick up catering sized packs of cling film and tinfoil and she kept on giving them to us.

We now have enough tinfoil to wrap the flat in a layer so thick that it'll protect us from even the biggest nuclear warheads.
5G proof the house

I don't see what the big deal is. He is a £10m signing with a history of injuries. Now just like a fixer upper, you take a punt. Like a car he didn't pass MOT as the standards on the roads here are different from Italy, its much faster and requires you to be much more physically fit. He knows all this, so they're giving him half a season to get upto fitness. We did the same Robbo and Fabs. Unlike previous Italian signings this was very much a punt with a very small downside

Well I hope you're right because I'm a big fan of Chiesa, but I just can't shake the feeling that Slot doesn't rate him or something else going on behind the scenes that will ultimately spell the end of his time at LFC

The fact that 90% of posters KNEW this was a bad signing. Keeping Doak would’ve been a better option right now.
well to be fair Doak might not have developed so we might owe cheesie for being this seasons salah stooge

imo there’s a few too many rumblings about moving on already but who knows. i love the car analogies though, keep them coming.

True. He would’ve got plenty of time here towards the end of games. But nowhere near what he’s getting at ‘boro.

To give it perspective, we spent £57m on a 32 year old who was plying his trade in Germany who played a total 4196minutes in 5 years, thats 46 games in 5 years or roughly 9 games a season (PL in only). Cheese's signing would be questioned more if he cost £30m plus and we were struggling.

I think he's devastated.

He moves over with his hot wife.
Some blert on a forum disrespects his wife.
Wife sees it while doing research about her new home.
Decides that it's an offence that can't go unpunished and she has moved to Athens to hunt down and ride @Athens into submission.
She'll need to bring her A game. I've been dealing with crazy Mediterranean types for years.

31 GAs last season. How many wingers in Europe in top flight league with 31 GAs?
He’s fucking shite mate. Give it up.

He since the start of last season he’s been offside more than anyone and also launched more chairs into crowds. Add to that his theatrics the last few games he needs booting out.

It would help if we understood what the issue was. I'm still putting my faith in four things at the moment; he passed a medical very recently. That isn't a catch-all, but I think the club would have done a deep dive on him, and nothing is a complete surprise; he was genuinely extremely excited to join us. It would be kinda odd if he was not then doing all he could behind the scenes, and his ability is more than good enough to rotate into the side. There isn't any question marks about that. Additionally, Slot, and his team, are widely known for their conditioning and injury management, both on and off the pitch.

Chiesa was never a Naby and expected to transform this side. He wasn't even a punt like Thiago, who was cheap but among our highest earners. Chiesa was a peanut fee on relatively reasonable wages. He's on a four-year year, so the club should give him until 2026. If he's not working out then there will likely be suitors in Italy, who will convince themselves he'll be better in Seria A or they can fix him. Alternatively we'll flog him to Turkey or Saudi and he'll spend the remainder of his career wondering what might have been. As it stands, he doesn't deserve the past failings of other players being lumped onto him. Juve lost ~£50m on the player and he still retained the goodwill of their fans until the last day. That says something.

i don’t know if this is applicable in his case with his injury history but has he just lost a yard or a bit of some other attributes that mean he’s just not at the level liverpool require?

maybe the gamble was that he’ll be good enough when he gets back to fitness and form but we’re realising he doesn’t have enough any more

His nationality was a red flag.

Doak has played 13 games and has 1 goal and 5 assists for Boro. That was the right move for him this season.
For him long term that more than likely. For us as a club maybe not. We’ve been lucky Salah has had breaks but that can’t carry on if his backup is constantly unavailable.

I think if it were purely injury-related then there wouldn't be so much speculation that something else is going on.
I think if it were personality-related, it would have leaked by now.
So it could be something that both the club and the player would prefer to keep quiet.
Inject your own conspiracy theory here.
