Pre Match West Ham (H) - Sun Apr 13th 14:00

Elliott has been pretty poor when starting though. Not taken his chance at all.

Alisson and Bradley back for this, let’s go.

Szobo has been pretty poor and still gets games. If Elliott is training well he should get chances, not just one or two in league cup games. I dunno whether he'd be able to play well if he's in the team with Macca and Gravy behind him but he should get the chance. Chiesa also needs to play.

Genuinely don't care if Elliott has done poor in the handful of starts he's gotten this year. Szob has been poor for months and is picked without fail.

Szob either needs to move deeper to the 8 for his current skill set, or be dropped. And I don't want to drop Macca.

I’ve had some reflection. I know Quansah wont start because Slot would rather watch him hanging out the back of his daughter on Onlyfans than give him a place in the starting XI.

Tsimikas needs games to get going and Robbo will have had a full week off. Salah starts regardless. The only question is if jones stays in the side meaning one of Mac (best player this last 6 weeks) or Slobby (run Slobby run) misses out.

Momo’s revised line up.

Alisson
Bradley
Konate
Van dijk
Robertson
Gravenberch
Jones
Mac Allister
Salah
Jota
Diaz

The West Ham fan on my team hates the Anfield games because they usually get beat.

In the last 30 games at home we’ve had 22 victories, 7 draws and 1 defeat against them.

You'd think that would be a basic tenet of squad management.

Well… Quansah got hooked at half time for losing duels in the first game and had barely had a look in since.

Was it Binny that posted stats saying our duel winning numbers had dropped off a cliff.

I don’t think it’s outrageous to suggest if Slot is going to be that brutal on one player that the same should be applied to others.

I’d want to know who’s losing these duels and why aren’t we playing someone else.

There’s no point having high standards if we’re not going to impose them.

I think we will batter them here. But we won't make it easy for ourselves. For once it would be nice to see Slot send us out full throttle. Look how we've ended some games recently absolutely throwing the kitchen sink in last 15 mins. Why not start like that - and set our stall out from the start.

Which is what this prick has been saying for ages.

So using the Fulham game as an example, here's the duels across the squad (I'll focus mainly on ground duels, but aerial duels they're pretty similar)
Player: won/total (percentage)
Jota: 2/4 (50%)
Salah: 0/5 (0%)
Gakpo: 3/9 (33%)
Szob: 0/1 (0%)
Macca: 5/11 (45%)
Gravy: 7/10 (70%)
Robbo: 3/5 (60%)
Jones: 3/5 (60%)
Ibou: 3/5 {60%)
Vvd :1/4 (25%)

So, make of that what you will.

For me, anyone with 0% is just fucking unforgivable. I have to question why szob contested just once and lost. I'm impressed that gravy is that high tbh. He's obviously struggling with the minutes yet was our best

The bench was more damning, where only Diaz and Bradley contested successfully. Bradley however had 100% (2/2), Diaz has 20% (1/5).

Bradley also created the most chances and got an assist. He played 23 minutes.

Did anyone see the training video they released yesterday?
Chiesa looked pretty sharp. Hope he gets Nunez's minutes from now on.

Quansah won 2/4 duels against Ipswich btw.

Slot just wanted to make an example in his first game it seems. Straight from the mourinho playbook?

Something like that because apparently it doesn't apply to anyone else but Quansah.
Some can be shit for 80 minutes before he even considers subbing them.

It does seem that he's picked the easiest target form minute 1. Whether that's because he doesn't rate quansah, or wanted to give him a kick up the arse I don't know. But as you say, he's not applied that to anyone else really

Referee: Andy Madley. Assistants: Scott Ledger, Mat Wilkes. Fourth official: Tony Harrington. VAR: John Brooks. Assistant VAR: Steve Meredith

I think I'd like to see Salah in the middle, see if he can get some form back.

Maybe Szobo == Salah == Diaz up front, then Jones can come in to AM.

Plus, we'd find out if there is a use for Szobo before the summer transfer deals.

After trials, delays, praise and some criticism, semi-automated offside technology (SAOT) will be introduced in the Premier League this weekend.

It’ll still be shit.

Liverpool seek a relaxing run-in

It is not a question of who will win the Premier League title but how it will be won: at a canter or with Liverpool testing the anxiety levels of their supporters once again? The answer should become clearer after West Ham’s visit. A catalogue of individual errors resulted in the end of Liverpool’s 26-game unbeaten league run at Fulham last weekend and left Arne Slot’s team still needing 11 points to secure the club’s 20th league championship, although the total will be fewer should Arsenal drop any more points. West Ham, Leicester and Tottenham, Liverpool’s next three opponents, present the more straightforward route to victory than trying to get over the line against Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton and Crystal Palace in the final four games of the season. Anfield could be an apprehensive place on Sunday and will be looking to the team’s experienced leaders to get the job almost done. Andy Hunter
