The Italian stallion

Yeah, the video doesn't look that great TBF, he impressed me more than that on the night. Might be the first case of a YouTube vid making a player look less than he was.
The thing that has really stuck with me in his recent appearances is how good a striker of the ball he is, which you can really see in the build-up to Harvey's goal against PSV. More of this, please.

I've no qualms praising that performance from a player whos not played 90 minutes on potentially a year, and still getting back to fitness

Now if he's putting in that kind of performance 2 months in and 1000 mins later... I still won't massively mind as he cost little, but I'd be a little disappointed.

I'm confident he'll improve

As for his gait it's all lopsided like Beardsley. He should be more Beardsley. I thought he played well yesterday but still think it's weird how long it's taken him to get fit. Fingers crossed etc

It felt to me that he was playing within himself due to fear of breaking down and the cameos hes's had up until last night weren't enough time to get over that fear.
But as the minutes ticked by last night he began to trust his body more.

He's definitely slower than he was when he burst onto the scene but I think that will come if he stays injury free and builds up more minutes.

I’m not sure what it was, but when he said he hadn’t been able to play ninety minutes “for all sorts of reasons,” it felt there has to be something more going on for him beyond just fitness. Who knows, though—it’s pointless to speculate. What matters is that he seems to be in a good place now. His performance against PSV was mostly about building fitness, and he gave everything, running himself into the ground. There should be no real doubt about his quality in attacking areas. I don’t think we’ve even come close to seeing the best of him yet, but there's enough glimmers to show he can have an important impact on second half of the season.

We have a lot of lads who enjoy gym work and hopefully that rubs off on him. Even if he did five percent of Salahs regime it will leaps and bounds over whatever Juventus had him doing.

Slot just doesn't seem that excited about having Chiesa as an option. Seems like every time he's mentioned in press conferences he's quick to downplay his performances or his role in the squad going forward.

That could have been because of the injuries and not wanting to build him up in fans eyes.

He was more generous yesterday at least!

Arne Slot on Federico Chiesa:

"He's ready for more minutes in the premier league. Big compliment for how hard he's worked and the performance staff as well."

It’s not the first time that Modi has been over-eager to portray Slot as having little digs at players - I just don’t interpret it as that at all.

What’s it @Modo … are you jealous of his beautiful shiny dome?

He should be jealous of me. My bald head is perfectly shaped. Jordan-esque.

Certainly not. The only people who'll get anywhere near my tip have got lumps on their chest.
Did you say lumps?
