Milly no more

Pretty sure the photo is photoshopped, but just to make the point that Milner would not be allowed to speak to any English clubs about a free transfer until the end of the season, so if he is speaking to Brighton now then it would be with LFC's consent. He's been a great servant to the club and I'm sure they, like me, will wish him all the best.

I'm honestly finding it strange that Milly isn't finishing his career in Leeds.
But yeah, it's sad but unfortunately time.
Father time is undefeated

I dont understand this move. They don't need him. He will slow their midfield down, if he plays at all.
It has to be part of a deal including Macallister or Caicedo.

Love him as we do, don't want him on the playing books for next season. We need fresh blood. With him, Keita and Ox gone, that's the green light for new players. He's the ultimate professional and he could coach for us but, playing next season, we need something different.

We'll re-sign him in three years on a free when his contract with Brighton runs out. Might be a bit slower then so he'll have to rotate with Jude

Best freebie we've had. Should have retired and joined the backroom and earned his coaching badges

Feels a bit under appreciated by the crowd compared to Bobby, especially since he actually came on.

James Milner:
"I've loved every minute here. Unbelievable club, the size of the club, the history before you come in, and we've managed to create our own history.
"Travelling around the world, seeing the support we have, the special nights we've had here, the European nights, the unbelievable games, obviously Dortmund and Barça always stand out but other periods in games. Those memories will stay with you forever.
"I'm Leeds through and through and always have been and always will be – but I never probably thought that another club would get into me as much as Liverpool has. That says everything about the place and the fans and the history and what we've created here, but also the group of people."

Fucking legend.

Hes only about 15 appearances away from the all time PL record. I'd imagine that's his real motivation. He won't start many games for Brighton but if he can get a few run out for 5-10 mins and become the all time appearance record holder I think he will retire a happy man.

My best mate from our childhood in Dublin and I were at that Bournemouth match where he volleyed it off the line to save the win... Felt like it happened in slow motion and it was greeted around Anfield like he's scored a 30 yard screamer. Magic stuff.

James Milner on being a role model for Liverpool's youngsters:

"I came in about 15 minutes later than I normally do today and Trent was in before me and said, ‘Have I beat you in?!’

"For him to comment and actually be in that early – I know he hasn’t done the school run or anything – it’s great. They’re the special things, you see the younger guys and Trent, I’ve seen him grow up and you see the pictures when he first came into the team as a boy.

"And you see what a player he is now and the man he is becoming, hopefully we have helped him learn a few positive things on the way and the things he needs to do to look after himself. It’s easier when you’re young, you never feel stiff, you never feel tired.

"You can do what you want, and obviously as he goes by hopefully he’ll think, ‘Oh, that’s why that old man Millie used to do that in the gym before training!' You see the young boys coming in now, Fabio [Carvalho] – unbelievable, unbelievable attitude.

"Harvey [Elliott], Curtis [Jones] doing so well in the team at the moment, that’s special because you’ve seen them from so young and that’s something, you want to help them as much as you can.

"But it’s something when you leave the club or even when you’re retired, you watch these guys go on and you want to be available for them. Then if they ever want to call you, you want to help them because you feel like, everyone says it’s a family that dressing room.

"And even people who have left the club are still part of the family and you want to see them do as well as possible."
