Neil, that is previous regime thinking, it seems to me that JH, although not wanting to chuck money away, looks at the greater good of strengthening the team.

I was on my phone earlier and couldnt type easily so.... 2 things i spotted earlier in the thread... one post said that ming is our fifth central midfielder in the pecking order, it also failed to point out that the current football zeitgeist often plays with 3 in the middle and at least 2 centrally. Ming has shown that one of the things he is very very good at is movement and arriving in the box perhaps stylistically different but a David Platt type player for getting in the box ( for those of us old enough to know who the fuck that is!)
It is also debatable if we have a "pecking order" and indeed if we did that ming would finish 5th!
Personally i think Dalglish so far has given every indication that he completely understands the need for a good squad and that competition for places is essential.
The best post in the thread so far belonged to you Vlad, earlier, we dont need to sell at all and it would be barmy to sell this lad.
I think it just hot air tbh, at least i hope it is.
If we could get great money and strengthen another area before the window closes then fair enough but i doubt we could, Ming was a highlight for many of us last season for good reason.... he is a really really good player.
Strengthening Chelsea, even if we could strengthen ourselves as a result, while both the manc teams look so strong.... i just dont get the impression that we will do that, its cutting your own throat.
It might be that we have overspent on the previous understanding that we would sell ming and recoup the money, this is a possibilty, i doubt many of us actually believed we would spend so much but....
top n tail of it is selling Ming is a very bad idea.
