The sensible idea was to target Insua not the monster at RB. Although it is a strange position for him, he didn't shirk the duty. He defended when needed and was strong in the tackle. Didn't notice him wandering too much and he kept and his positional sense seemed fine today.

Nah, you're right of course. He may not have as wide a range of skills as some, but when the going gets tough - as it often will, at the level at which we want to be playing - you want Masher in the trenches with you every single time.

The times when we had mascherano, benayoun and kuyt chasing the ball like mad men last season were some of the best moments. You have to love the energy they showed and how it effected the crowd and the team. The only downside is mascherano does lose his head a bit and end up 30 yards out of position but I forgive him every time.
