Please just fuck off.

And those who supported him earlier this season, please fuck off too. You know fcukall bout footie.

Ever since he kicked a ball for our club since day 1, I already knew he was shite.

He offered nothing at all in the last few games, and today he was exposed horribly by a triumvirate of world class midfielders. He was afraid to run into spaces to receive the ball, he shirked when the ball was at his feet, made half-hearted tackles cos he lacked balls, he scuffed his passes easily.....

And i don't fcuking understand why Rafa waited until the last quarter to kick his arse off the field.

I don't give a toss if he was the best player during pre-season (who fcuking gives a shit ?!), I don't care if he played quite well early during the season (we lost and drew our early games remember ??)....he offers nothing to the team. Period.

You see...I can be fair too. Lucas can actually play but he loses his balls when you put a man on him. I've noticed him in a lot of games and this is how opposition teams fcuk him up. It's very simple really.

Basically they put a man onto him, follow him like a leech and close down the places when he's got the ball. And then he starts to lose his scrotums and he drops deeper and deeper until he leaves gaping holes in midfield. In other words, you just bully him into his own half and you win the midfield battle cos there's only Mascher/Gerrard to cover.

Against the poorer teams, he isn't so bad cos 1) they struggle to string a few passes let alone dominate midfield, hence Lucas doesn't get intimidated much 2) our star players dominate the game and that leaves him a lot of room to breathe, hence he has his work cut

I really haven't a clue what Rafa and some of you lot see in him. He's useless and it fcuking baffles me when I read Ryan's posts defending Lucas. Lucas's a joke of a footballer. Period.

Stupid game to have a go at him for, he was largely fine. We didn't lose the game because we lost the midfield battle, we lost it due to mistakes which he didn't cause.

Yes he's not good enough, but change the fucking record, was there a need for a new thread?

Oh and by the way the piece in bold seems to be the only reasonable part of this post.

I'd happily stick a Liverpool player that you actually support into my avatar. But I'm afraid there is none.

lucas is shit. he offers nothing. he's supposedly this box to box central midfielder, its not jsut about saying we didn't lose the game because of him. the question is when was the last time we won a game because of him.

i've said it before - the worst central midfielder we've had since diao.

we looked an instantly better team today when gerrard dropped into centre midfield and lucas went off to find rafa the vaseline.

Wasn't Lucas' fault we got done today.

Mascherano lost the ball for the first .... and Drogba skinned Aurelio and Carragher for the second.

+ Torres missed a header, fluffed one on his left foot, and Benayoun missed a sitter.

Yes Lucas didn't play well today, but Stevie G was more disappointing for me.

Oh look, the site's two football forum mentalists agree on a subject that was nothing to do with today's game. How sweet.

mascherano and gerrard until aquilani is fit to play lucas is weak and lacks the courage and confidence to challenge for the ball

Lucas is shit? Really? How come noone has ever mentioned this before? Someone really should tell Benitez you know......

I likey...

In simple terms.

Alonso was our play-maker last year. Lucas has replaced him.
Lucas wouldn't get into the Sunderland first team. Why is he still a first teamer for Liverpool?

You can say that Gerrard and Torres were anonymous, but they weren't last season when Alonso was actually getting the ball to them in the right areas. It's hard on the lad, and it may seem unfair laying the blame at his door, but there's no getting around it. He's a massive reason why we aren't beating decent sides this year. He's a passenger when we need a playmaker. You can't lose one of your most important players (arguably the most important player who linked the defence and attack) and replace him with an average kid and then expect there not to be a knock-on effect on the rest of the players/team.

Masher giving away possession and Carragher getting beating by Drogba were the defining moments of the game, but sure lets blame Lucas for us not winning sure, why not.

Fear that one may actually be homosexual himself: Homosexuality is, by even the most conservative estimates, far more common than the number of open homosexuals would imply. And with the realization that bisexuality is actually fairly common, there is a genuine fear among the more conservative that they, themselves, may be homosexual, particularly if they have had a homosexual experience in their past which they actually enjoyed.

Are you fucking serious ? It's so bleeding obvious we lost the game in midfield.

This is basically the same Chelshit team that was shaped like last year. No width whatsoever.

They relied on their 3 powerful world-class midfielders to supply quick one-two balls down the middle to Anelka and Dogshite who were making diagonal runs into the far edges/corners of the box, respectively. It was the same tactics deployed last season when we beat them 1-0. I cant remember who their strikers were at that time but I was pretty sure they played the same way.

Lucas didn't do his job today and was anonymous throughout most of the game.

If he had done his job, we would've hung onto the ball better and made proper use of our flanks which was how it was to hurt them. Stretch the play and their midfield will not be so compact and that's when their defence opens up, especially down the middle when our players can run into the boxes or pick up the 2nd balls.

That was clearly Rafa's game plan. Notice that Insua and Glen rarely cut inside to avoid congestion, in fact they put in early crosses but there was nobody to pick up the 2nd balls when the ball's headed/cleared out cos our midfield was being pulverized.

Anyway fcuk it. What do I know eh ?

Roger, fuck off.. Hardly the game to have a go at him for, when so many of our seasoned players fucked up or were below par.

Rage, thanks for the confirmation that you're a limp wristed, homophobic, brainless cunt.

Don't you get it ? He's not even doing a role of a water carrier. He's more like a passenger. Doing the simple things. The difference between the likes of Makelele, Didi and Lucas is that while his more illustrious luminaries perfected the art of doing the simple things efficiently, they actually pass the ball forwards a lot and calm play down by giving an extra yard of space for their fellow teammates to recover their thoughts, plan their decisions and hit a pass/shot.

Where as Lucas does the total opposite thing. He makes a pass and actually puts his teammate under pressure. Don't get me wrong, his passes are fairly accurate, doesnt give the ball away as his detractors accuse him off but what he does with the ball is usually a wasteful option.

That's what so infuriating bout his game.

Lucas is an easy target and unfairly targetted... but after going a goal behind I found myself venting my frustration at him. If he wants to make it as a first teamer, I feel he needs to take on more responsibility to make things happen. Still, he wasn't the worst player in a red shirt today.

You might want to go and look up the price tag of those "more illustrious luminaries".

I think you're barking up the wrong tree and venting your frustrations on an easy target. He's not there to be the fucking match winner, there's plenty of seasoned pro's out there to have a go at for fucking up the 'simple things'.

Steven Gerrard did a far poorer job of filling his "role" on the team today than Lucas did. And he has a few times to start this season.

As has Carra. And Skrtyl.

My point is not that Lucas is good enough - He's not. But he's not playing "his game" badly. "His game" is simply so limited, that if the other MF's don't play well, his shortcomings are highlighted in far more detail.

It's not his fault he's not Didi. Or Essien. Very few are, y'know.

And I'm not even a fan of the boy. But today wasn't on him...

You know...some of you guys prefer to pinpoint the problem but when it comes to dissecting the problem, you all fail to notice the root itself.

They scored because of Mascher and Carra's mistakes but up until then, both of them played fairly ok. At least they stood up and didn't remain anonymous unlike Lucas.

The balance of the team's shape was lost from the beginning, it was only a matter of time someone would be penalized for the amounting pressure from the chavs. Unfortunately it was Mascher and Carra this week.

If we continue to play like this against the scums, we will lose our 4th game in less than 10. Gerrard and Mascher have to be our CM for now until Aquilani becomes fit again.

I don't get this calling our own players a cunt unless they're the likes of some horrible fucker like Diouf. Lucas is average but it's not his fault he gets picked week in week out. What do you want him to say, "Don't pick me boss I'm not good enough"?

Its not a blame game .... and for once i include Lucas, that game was fifty fifty.... a mistake by Masher cost us the match in what was basically a pure stalemate.

Don't misunderstand me I personally am so completely ambivalent as to Lucas that i really don't want to see him in our shirt again but today the fuck ups were Torres for missing his half chances and Yossi for missing his.

Two of our best players.

You cant even blame Rafa for any dizziness IMO, the team was fine, its just Chelsea are as good as we are and perhaps better and we can't be assured of beating them just like anybody else cant be.

It was a shit sandwich and we had to eat it. Perhaps if we hadnt started so badly this season we would have had more confidence, perhaps if we had not sold Alonso and had managed to strengthen the team instead via our marvellous owners we we would have had more confidence.... the truth is we just got beat in a super close game against the genuine league favourites away from home.

It does bring home to me the optimism of people saying "all we need to do is beat the minnows at home".... stupidly ignoring the fact that we also needed to repeat the trick of last year of beating the big boys... no fucking easy task.

As for Lucas... he is totally nothing to me, i dont hate him because he isnt quite shit enough to warrant that but at the same time he brings absolutely nothing to our team, other people might say he does but i dont agree and i cant be arsed to get in an argument because anybody who rates him has a different idea of what a footballer should be like.... it would be pointless.

A shit sandwich... we ate it... we didnt deserve to but .... we left it all to chance again in summer... its probably a slim one... I knew that if you didnt that is your problem.

Incidentally i cannot fucking wait to fuck them up at Anfield.

Spent the afternoon with a manc on one side and a blue on the other.... nearly got barred.
