Unless this somehow becomes a 4-4-2, expect a poor performance from Benayoun at LW because he's at his weakest there.
How do you get Benny at LW mate?

It's either 4-4-2 or Benny behind Torrs. No way would he play Aurelio central.
I'm not so sure these days.

I'm quite optimistic about tonight. Play how we did against the first half against Arsenal and we should be alright.

Wigan are a tidy outfit though, so we can't be too careful.

So......

---------------Reina--------------
Carra--Skrtel---Agger--Insua
--------Gerrard-Masher--------
-Kuyt--------Yossi-----Aurelio-
--------------Torres--------------

Or...

---------------Reina--------------
Carra--Skrtel---Agger--Insua
Yossi--Gerrard-Masher-Aurelio
-----------Kuyt-Torres-----------

It's just got to be 4-4-2, otherwise i don't see a reason why either Lucas or Aquilani aren't in the starting lineup.

Don't think it makes much difference really, as long as Kuyt, Yossi and Gerrard support. It's about time we let the shackles off a bit and just went for it.

unfortunately it could be

Reina
Carra Skrtel Agger Insua

Masch Aurelio

Kuyt Gerrard Yossi

Torres

in which case the plot is truly lost with him

The plot was lost with the constant selection of Lucas.

It seems stupid to criticise the manager when he's finally dropped him.

aquilani is looking like a disaster already. there's 100 percent something up with the situation.

this on sky?

I was assuming that he wouldn't split up the G&T link in a 4-2-3-1 mate, and that would mean Aurelio in next to Mascher (instead of either Lucas or Aquilani). After seeing your lineup i wouldn't be so shocked to see that formation.

I agree about your "shackles" comment.

Oh, and when did Glock come back? Has he explained all that copy and paste business?
I too missed this and would greatly appreciate brief summaries and/or links to relevant threads.
If nothing else it might take my mind of the pitiful state of our dear old LFC.

That won't be Aurelio centre mid, no way. Not with Lucas and Aquilani fit (ish).......

IF it is;

1) Rafa has lost it completely

2) Aquilani will move back to Italy sooner rather than later

3) Rafa can pack his bags for all that I care

seriously i agree. if he starts aurelio ahead of purple aqui, then i've had enough. even gerrard starting ahead of him is trying my fucking patience.

Yes, there are no other possible options or alternatives.

no i'm not joking. it's clear as fucking day that something is up. i'm thinking 'babel' rather than 'robbie keane' actually.

don't be naive.

'Babel'? Meaning what?

It's definitely shaping up to be a Keane-esque situation - clearly a very talented player who, tactically, is unwilling or unable to do the job Rafa wants him to do. Very worrying.

I will be blissfully naive until I see him play more than I have. Yes this has been frustrating watching our £20 million signing stew on the bench or not even getting on the bench at all, but I think this is an overreaction.

i always felt, with keane, that there was more to it than football. he showed clear dissent at being subbed several times and was apparently quite aloof with rafa.

babel fits your description better, and that's what i meant.

I think Keane's dissent was part of his inability/unwillingness to adapt tactically - he was just really frustrated. Babel looks like he couldn't give a toss most of the time, and was also very young when he came here, and played quite a lot of games in his first season, so I do think Keane is a better comparison.

Hopefully we're both wrong, though, and Torres is the real comparison, just waiting to be made.

a 'babeane' situation then.

:-\
Don't worry to much.

Aqua is Rafa's player through and through and he is just easing him the best he's learned, trying to make sure he'll be a hit also in the long run rather than another crooked player leaving in a few Seasons with less than 20 games under his belt.
