Why that back four Mark?
...assuming Glen Jo is out. Otherwise Glen Jo at right back and Carra/Agger at centre back.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOps.

My bad.

Here is the team for tonight no magic and no aqua.

Reina
Carra
Agger
Skrtel
Insua
Beny
Gerrard
Masch
Aurelio
Kuyt
Torres
Same team as posted on TLW. Interesting.

Shame about Purple not playing, and I've had stuck Gegen at RB if Magic couldn't make it, but it puts Casper in a position where he's not always shit, and gives Torres some support.

Obviously Insua playing is a disaster, but we don't really ahve anyone else to play there if Aurelio is further up the pitch.

Easy win.

I hope you're right.
We should have seen that more often

Aurelio and Insua on the left doesn't inspire me, but I'm happy we are trying something different in terms of our overall set up.

Watch it be something fucked up like Gerrard on the right and Aurelio at CM.

Don't worry, I'll be doing my usual reverse psychology trick when we go a goal down.

Although in fairness, that hasn't been working either.

Tell you what, how about I try just a generally vague positive stance and maintain that throughout the match too?

"I think we should win, we have better players, we're at home and while Wigan are a decent side and will amke it difficult, we should have enough to get the three points. Hopefully"

Better?

Skrtel and Agger together is an accident about to happen. I see a long night ahead
They really need to register a win playing together - starting tonight.

I think it might be the same formation as normal, but fab next to mash, Stevie behind torres, Benny on left and kuyt on right

In all the matches I have been to (ok just three :-[) we have never conceeded a goal and have scored an average of three goals per game.
Let's hope that run continues tonight.

PS. If we do win tonight I might propose that in the interests of LFC all of you should club together in order to sponsor me, to go to all our matches in the future. Premiership sorted. 🙂

Oh didnt realize that. That would be silly.
And now I fear you might well be right.

Unless this somehow becomes a 4-4-2, expect a poor performance from Benayoun at LW because he's at his weakest there.

My prediction is.

1st half we will play inspired football

THERE Goalkeeper will be Man of the Match

We will STORM into a 3-0 lead

The kop will spontainiously burst into song with " We are gonna win ...... this game"

At the start of the second half the ref will fuck up and give them either a Penalty that shouldn't have been or a Free kick in a really dangerous area from which they score.

Our confidence will shatter and we hold on somehow winning the game 3-2 at the end

God, I hope not! That really would be the Keane-esque kiss of death for poor Aquilani.

Let's face it, he should be starting this game. If he's not, it means Rafa doesn't trust/like him. Either that or he's fucking injured again. I don't know which would be worse tbh.

Or, more likely, we'll play good football, go 1-0 up, concede a flukey equaliser, then our confidence will crumble, Wigan will have a series of set-pieces, one of which will go in, and Rafa will then throw the kitchen sink (including Aquilani if he's really desperate) at them, Gerrard will dive to win a penalty, and we will heroically manage a thrilling 2-2 draw at home to a midtable team. Again.

I do... Rafa not trusting/liking him. We can get rid of Rafa for not playing Aquilani, we can't get rid of injury prone as we have seen numerous times

Oh, and tickets are still on General Sale for this by the way.

Tells you all you need to know.

I still expect the atmosphere to rival that of St.Etienne in 77. The Kop are going to *literally* suck the ball into the net tonight.
My favourite all time match (of those I've attended) !

Fuck me I'm nervous about tonight. That's awful at home to Wigan.

What's the odds on a Titus Bramble screamer to settle it?

I have a feeling this match will be a draw later.
I have been feeling negative about it all day.
I think Aquilani will start on the bench too.

It's going to be poxy.

Didnt you see the team Stu?

Oh, and when did Glock come back? Has he explained all that copy and paste business?

I have no expectations for tonight's game however I'm open to a pleasant surprise. I wonder if the owners have contingency plans in place should Rafa prove unable to correct this freefall.

How do you get Benny at LW mate?

It's either 4-4-2 or Benny behind Torrs. No way would he play Aurelio central.
