Big game for Klopp and co.

We need to get back to winning ways after the last week.

No Mane so I'd put Coutinho straight in.

Ming to come back in and I'd be surprised if Milner doesn't start.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sturridge start also and giving Firmino a rest

Ming
Gomez
Lovren
Matip
Robertson
Henderson
Milner
Can
Coutinho
Salah
Sturridge

Coutinho looks extremely off the pace in that 15 mins cameo. I will start Sturridge and bring Coutinho on later.

Might also take Gini or Can out for Ox. Gini looks knackered and Can need to pay for his nonchalence.

Tom Heaton is out. That may or may not be a good thing. Perfect day for this Pope fella to play the game of his career in Anfield.

Wijnaldum was by far by the best CM against Sevilla, he didn't look knackered at all.

That said, he's so inconsistent he could easily put in one of his regular Invisible Man displays in the next game.

The best chance of controlling this kind of game, when the opposing team turns up with the usual spoiling tactics, is to absolutely blitz them in the first fifteen minutes - start incredibly fast and strong, don't give them a chance to catch their breath, and attack. We have such a pacy, clever forward line, we need to use it properly and immediately after the whistle.

Quick counter 0-1.
Buss parked, game over.

Brilliant insight as usual by the fan who hates the players. Careless cynicism is probably the best description of your weird current mood. 'To the tune of George Michael's song, or the much-loved Mighty Mouse theme'. By starting slowly and cautiously, as too often we do, you'll find the same cluelessness as the team and crowd get increasingly tense and anxious and the opposing team grows in confidence. Well done!

Home to Burnley is one of those games that we should not be sticking 3 midfielders in front of our defence; they'll score even if we do.

.................................................Mingnolet.............................................
Alex-Arnold...................Matip.....................Gomez....................Robertson
..............................Henderson...............Milner.......................................
..........Ox-Chamberlain.............Coutinho................Salah.....................
..............................................Firmino..................................................

Here's a thought, Matip used to play in DM for Schalke. Why not move him into midfield, play Gomez at the back with Lovren. Problem solved? Maybe.

With Coutinho in the team, it's usually more that sort of formation anyway.

Interesting team, I'd quite like to see that, but I'd probably play Wijnaldum or Can next to Henderson.

Biggest issues for me are Gomez at CB, and TAA at RB. That would seem to be a huge risk, given how dreadful they both were in their last game. Even if the alternative is Lovren or The Binman.

I just reckon that AA is better going forward than Gomez at RB and given that Burnley will undoubtedly score, no matter what back 4 we select, I reckon we should be getting forward at every opportunity. If AA plays RB then I'd take a chance and try Gomez beside Matip because Lovren doesn't deserve his place at present.

Got to get TAA back in there after that deflating performance against City.

That said, swapping the two around each week isnt conducive towards keeping clean sheets. Klopp needs to pick one and sharpish

I wish Clyne was fit. Despite his questionable attacking plays, he's solid at the back.

If Flanno was really fit I'd be tempted to try him there, if only for the fact he's trained with those players for a season and ought to know them best of all three RB options. But I rather doubt he's up to it these days. I agree with you, Trent is probably the best option. His delivery from corners and crosses is something we've lacked before in previous games at home against packed defences. He could make a real difference.

We got all excited over AA and Gomez. At the moment there is really no one better at RB than Mr Consistency. How we will kill for *some* stability in defence now.

I bet you're one of those who used to advocate shit like Agger at DM and Kuyt at RB.
