Gini was great yea but do we really need this press resistance and tight control? Henderson contributed massively but was never particularly gifted in tight spaces or under pressure, he just ran his nuts off and wasn’t terrible at passing.

He was also good at putting the opposing left-back under pressure and bloody effective at stopping him from joining in the attack. It's a pity his legs have gone but they have.

Yea that was always going to be the problem with Henderson, most of his game was in his attitude and his fitness.

There are always going to be exceptional cases though. Working off stats and medical fact yea he was declining and it’s only going to get worse but can you quantify his influence on his team mates and other subjective matters like that?

The manager should be allowed the odd indulgence if he thinks it’s worthwhile. Ideally Henderson should be getting the odd game and filling in Milner style where needed right now.

Gini was technically different level in shielding the ball and getting out of tight situations. I highly doubt Caicedo will have a compilation like this even at the end of his career.

That's one hell of a highlight package in the middle of the park. For all the shit we laid at the feet of Gini, we could do with a peak version of him right now. Shame that he's broken and we are too.

OK, how about buying a new RB, converting Trent into a right sided midfielder instead would that work?
Seems to me like he doesn't want to play at RB anymore.
You're only going to anger @StevieM with that suggestion.
Get a homegrown rightback on loan, switch to 4-4-2, and hope Melo is able to contribute to a few games.

The data people were not keen but Klopp’s was vociferous in arguing for it.

That’s why I’m reluctant to clobber the owners each time for what we’re going through.
I can see Klopps argument as well. It's not like we could trust the club to sign a replacement.

You live by your decisions, too.

By the way, Solly March. 2 goals in 148 matches prior to today. 2 in 90 minutes playing us.

I wonder which donkey we’re going to play into form next?

He's fucking awful. We need to just bite the bullet and put him in midfield. It's a no brainer.

Great idea, he'll fit right in with our other midfielders who are just aimlessly strolling around like useless cunts

Actually if there's any chance of him playing in midfield ever, Klopp might as well do it right now because it can hardly be worse than it is at the moment. I don't see it tho

Heh. Well maybe it will give him more impetus and focus. He can defend, to a degree, but he needs a change of perspective and a boot up the arse, we also need to be utilising his best features, which are his attacking play. At the minute he's all over the place, at fault for goals and struggling to then have an impact on our attacking play.

It's been worth a try for years, he's not getting any better as a defender, he's getting progressively worse and more and more lax.

Those 2 goals came in his last 3 games before playing us, though. He's been fantastic for them this season.

March used to be just decent but has been playing on another level under De Zerbi, it's almost like he unlocked something or installed cheat codes in him

I also hate him purely because the commentators always refer to him in full name for no reason whatsoever

benching is what trent needs a bit of
salah too
but can we do it now?

Problem is what we all know, there's no one really adequate to replace them. Ok, so we can play Milner or Gomez at right back, but neither are ideal, Gomez is as clueless as Trent at times. And Salah, we've basically got Doak, or Elliott at a push, until we get a few injured players back.

Within the squad?

Probably not.....who would we use? 2 teenagers in Ramsay and Elliott? Don't tell me you're thinking of playing Milner there for the rest of the season?

Salah is still our top goal scorer in all comps with 17.....we don't have the options available right now. If it had been Harvey playing RW all season he'd have about 4 goals.
