I'm not loving gakpos whole body language at all. It is hard to integrate into this disjointed mess. But Diaz said fuck this, I'm playing. Gakpo?

We arent going to finish in Europa league this year without incoming midfielders. This team is shit, and Brighton are an actual team.

The same thing happened down Robertson's side. It's the whole team being dysfunctional. It's a waste of time worrying about matchups.

That was probably the most depressing half of football we've played all season.

Comprehensively outplayed.

No-one can keep the ball and most of the time we just hoofed it out of defence to get shot.

It's no longer embarassing, we're past that now, but it really does underline how poor this team is right now.

Dunno, Klopp said he was here to help push the bus / train / car or whatever. Doesn't look like it.
 
Needs to bite the bullet and make changes. Hes getting nothing from Fabinho, Hendo, Thiago, Ox, etc. If Ox is going, why the fuck does he keep playing him? Can see the other gobshite Keita coming on, he should be giving Doak and Bacjetic a go.

Klopp needs to pull everyone back and remain compact. We are no good anymore playing this expansive pressing football.

I can and called it. The owners didn't release the funds for a MF. Getting an average of one player per window isn't going to rejuvenate the squad. Klopp has credit in the bank. FSG and their scrooge like grip on finances are killing the club
Naby will come on in the 2nd half do jack and hopefully get injured for the whole season.
 
The side is broken mentally, physically and tactically. We need a complete rebuild like when Klopp first took over. I think we're at a similar level to where we were then. Do we have the funds and the transfer nous for another rebuild? Not sure.

Oh yeah, and I've got a bad feeling about Gakpo.

It's the hoofing that gets me. The ball is coming straight back because it's just hoof hoof hoof virtually half the time. And why we are pressing 4 vs 6 whenever Brighton are playing out of defence is nuts.
 
Klopp is as stubborn as Benitez was. In spite of overwhelming evidence he simply will not accept that his high pressing 4-3-3 is finished with many of this squad.

Gakpo looks slow and lazy. The midfield has been completely outclassed.

Overall it's reminiscent of a performance that gets a manager the sack.
 
I listen to people blaming owners for this— I still say this is largely on Klopp and his staff. They didn’t anticipate the obvious (and are still not seeing) precipitous decline in that midfield.

What is alarming is that the whole club setup seems to be just drifting. Things like not having the club doctor, unexpected departures. Gone is the complete professionalism from the top.

And yes. We are as bad as when klopp took over right now, though some huge players are out who would help a lot. Klopp should have dusted off the "play fucking football" line. We set a tone very early of cowardice on the ball.

To be fair, it’s not 4-3-3 - it’s a 4-4-2 “diamond” with Thiago at #10 for some reason. Let’s see if the system changes in the 2.
