Although Carroll looks horribly awkward on the ball, his holding up play's been better than what we've been subjected to before. Gotta start somewhere I guess.

During that whole first half I never felt we were gonna score from any of our attacks - Bellamy's goal was a pleasant surprise.

It's the same feeling every game.

This. And their chance wasn't even a chance, it was a freak.

I'd be more inclined to take Henderson off tonight though .... Gerrard in there would do damage tonight.
 
Precision Bellamy. Never rated him before, but I think Skrtel is the player of the season so far.
Downing until he gets an assist or a goal... I'm not going to applaud him for not sitting on the pitch and taking of his boots. Want to applaud him, but he can't seem to add to the momentum of the play. But may be the past the point of being fair-minded with his play.

Yep. I don't think Spearing was particularly good first half though, barely had a touch in the opening 30 minutes.

As for us dominating the match, that's true but it's still been pretty poor stuff. Slow to release the ball, wrong decision making and poor final ball/finishing has let us down all season and still is judging by the first half.

Really need to step it up 2nd half. Gerrard and Maxi would make a big difference.

We've attacked out wide all night so nobody in the middle has had all that much influence - that said Spearing has had less of the ball than anyone. But he did make a couple of nice tackles
